'Actor and singer Lee Jun, along with the behind-the-scenes story of the controversy over his remark "a monthly salary of 10 million won," tossed a playful jab at DinDin, who had sharply criticized him at the time.
On the 26th, a video titled "we met at 20, and already the day after tomorrow we'll be 40" was posted on Daesung's YouTube channel "JipDaesung." That day Jung Yonghwa, Yoon Dujun, and Lee Jun appeared as guests, enjoyed a Christmas party and had an honest conversation.
Lee Jun directly addressed the remark that caused controversy when he asked a cafe manager during a recent appearance on "Workman," "Don't you make 10 million won a month?" He said, "Actually the producers wanted to remove that line," and "but I rather insisted we include it. I thought, 'let's let people know Lee Jun is on Workman,'" which surprised everyone.
When Daesung asked, "So did you do it on purpose to stir up controversy?" Lee Jun said, "I didn't think it would grow this big. It became noisier than I expected," expressing that he was flustered by the unexpected aftershock.
The conversation naturally turned to DinDin. At the time, DinDin directly criticized Lee Jun's remark, saying, "Celebrities have no concept of currency value," which drew great attention and later earned him the nickname "a sensible celebrity." About this, Lee Jun said, "After that DinDin kept appearing on programs a lot. Recently he even appeared on 'Piss Show'," adding, "he's not someone who would go that far," jokingly drawing laughter.
Hearing this, Daesung retorted, "You're acting like a sensible celebrity these days," and Jung Yonghwa and Yoon Dujun also teased Lee Jun, saying, "You're smart but you often pretend not to know," and, "After doing Workman you've changed a lot." Lee Jun self-deprecatingly said, "I just throw out anything. Then it's edited on its own, and controversy arises," lightening the mood.
Meanwhile, Lee Jun had earlier mentioned the controversy with DinDin on the "Workman" content released on the 14th. He confessed, "I've done a lot of part-time work and a lot of tough jobs," and, "When you're on a show there are times when I throw out words without even knowing what I'm saying." DinDin pointed out, "That's the problem. You should always set limits, but you let everything loose."
DinDin later shared an epilogue. "On the day the content was released I was filming '2 Days & 1 Night' and the reactions were better than expected. But I saw comments saying things to Jun," he said, "I asked if he was okay and he said, 'As long as the show is fun, that's enough.'" He added, "The next evening I suddenly got a text saying 'I want to die,' so we talked on the phone for more than an hour," recounting how Lee Jun struggled with malicious comments.
Lee Jun said, "DinDin said, 'This isn't even a crime, why are you so upset?'" and "Hearing that made me think that whatever comments I receive now I would feel less hurt," he said.
Earlier, in August on "Workman," while working part-time at a low-cost coffee franchise, Lee Jun asked, "Don't you make 10 million won a month?" and was sharply criticized by DinDin, who said, "Celebrities have no concept of currency value," a remark that became a major topic. Afterward DinDin was noted as a "sensible celebrity," while Lee Jun was showered with malicious comments.
Through this "JipDaesung," Lee Jun revisited the controversy, saying, "I didn't think the line I insisted on would grow this big," and, toward DinDin, delivered a joking jab that "he's not someone who would even become a sensible celebrity," bringing laughter.
