Netflix has revealed viewing points ahead of the release of Cashero, a down-to-earth "my money, my power" hero story in which salaryman Sang-ung, struggling with wedding funds and house prices, gains the ability to become as strong as the money he holds in his hand, leaving him torn between living expenses and superpowers.
#1 Use a superpower and money disappears? The unprecedented birth of a cash hero whose power depends on his own money!
A poignant hero that elicits surreal empathy is coming!
The first viewing point of Cashero is the appearance of a never-before-seen, everyday-life hero. From Sang-ung (Lee Jun-ho), the "my money, my power" hero whose strength equals the amount of money in his hand and whose money disappears when he uses his power, to "the attorney" (Kim Byung-chul), who can pass through any wall when drunk, and Bang Eun-mi (Kim Hyang-gi), who activates powerful telekinesis the more calories she consumes. The unique settings—heroes unable to use their powers without money, alcohol, or calories—add to the viewing pleasure.
Writers Lee Jae-in and Jeon Chan-ho said, "Rather than a flashy universe, we aimed for a 'slice-of-life hero' starting from reality. We focused on humor and humanity that arise from the gap between extraordinary powers and ordinary people," raising expectations for a fresh story in which ordinary heroes will elicit real-world empathy. Each time Sang-ung faces a situation that requires using his superpower, he must choose whether to save the world or protect his personal peace, and that dilemma boosts viewer immersion as they empathize with his predicament.
#2 Lee Jun-ho x Kim Hye Jun x Kim Byung-chul x Kim Hyang-gi x Lee Chae-min x Kang Hanna
'TEAM Sang-ung' vs. 'Criminal Association', a fresh chemistry of characters with distinct personalities and charms!
The second viewing point is the fresh acting ensemble of actors who completed six distinct, character-filled roles. Lee Jun-ho plays Sang-ung, a thrifty hero who inherited a superpower that costs money rather than earning it. He will portray the complex emotions of the dilemma between salary and doing good with his unique charm.
Kim Hye Jun plays Min-sook, Sang-ung's girlfriend who, after learning about his superpower, carefully devises plans to protect his wallet. Through a character who weighs and considers practical options for marriage and buying a home, Kim Hye Jun will stimulate empathy points for the 20s and 30s generation.
Members of the Korean superhumans association, "the attorney" and "Bang Eun-mi," appear respectively as "the attorney who passes through walls when he drinks" and "Bang Eun-mi who uses telekinesis proportional to calories," delivering unusual laughs. Lee Chae-min and Kang Hanna play villain siblings Jonathan and Joanna of the "Criminal Association," who are constantly eyeing the heroes' powers, threatening the heroes and injecting tension into the story. Transformed into siblings who stop at nothing to steal the powers of superhumans, Lee Chae-min and Kang Hanna project a strong presence that will immediately draw viewers in. In addition, supporting cast members Kim Eui-sung, Kim Guk-hee, and Jang Hyun-sung complete a rich ensemble.
#3 Witty script and direction that draw you deep into Cashero's universe!
A comic hero story for all ages arrives at the end of 2025
The third viewing point lies in the lively direction that cheerfully unfolds Cashero's quirky universe and fresh settings. There are Sang-ung's bills that scatter like powder and coins that pour out whenever he uses his power, the clinking coin sound, the attorney's face that reddens as he drinks, and Bang Eun-mi's telekinetic effects that grow stronger the more bread she eats. The colorful direction that humorously expresses each character's abilities perfectly completes Cashero's tone.
Meanwhile, Jonathan and Joanna of the villainous Criminal Association, who target the heroes' powers, create a different kind of tension with their intimidating presence. The contrasting structure of ordinary heroes who must meet conditions to use their powers and the Criminal Association that operates through power will become another viewing point as the story unfolds.
In addition, Sang-ung's revealing narration and a variety of incidents that take place in familiar spaces such as apartments and wedding halls. With distinctive direction that captures the eye and ear, rhythmic development, and heroes and villains blending with different charms, Cashero is expected to establish itself as a work anyone can enjoy without burden at the end of 2025.
Meanwhile, the 'Merry Casheromas! Cashero year-end fan event,' held on Monday, Dec. 22, concluded successfully amid hot enthusiasm. The fan event was attended by Lee Jun-ho, Kim Hye Jun, Kim Byung-chul, Kim Hyang-gi, Lee Chae-min and Kang Hanna, who shared special moments with fans. The actors, who appeared on the red carpet, greeted and gave fan service with heartfelt responses amid the fans' cheers, raising the atmosphere at the site.
