After sudden disappearance rumors stirred public interest, actor Jang Dong-joo signed an exclusive contract with Management Run.
On the morning of the 26th, Management Run announced the exclusive contract news, saying, "Actor Jang Dong-joo, who captured the public's heart with his deep gaze and outstanding acting skills, has joined hands with Management Run after numerous love calls."
In addition, "Jang Dong-joo, who is celebrating multiple happy events as his next work is about to be revealed, is scheduled to star as the lead in SBS's "From Today I Am Human" on Jan. 2026 and is a noteworthy actor to watch in 2026," the company said.
After debuting through the KBS2 drama "School 2017," Jang Dong-joo established himself as an actor by appearing consecutively in substantial works such as tvN's "Criminal Minds" and SBS's "I will be your night," and in 2019 in OCN's "Mr. Temporary" he drew great attention by delivering explosive emotional acting and intense gazes uncharacteristic of a newcomer in the role of Kim Han-soo, a teenage murder suspect who was unjustly accused.
In addition, Jang Dong-joo, who crossed between dramas and films as a lead in the movies "Count" and "Handsome Guys," recently gained nearly 20 kg to play Jang Jung-woo, an aide and junior detective to Kim Nam-gil's (Lee Do) character, and delivered a flawless performance in the Netflix original "Unmasked."
Jang Dong-joo's exclusive contract attracted attention as good news following his disappearance rumors. On Oct. 31, he posted a short message saying "I'm sorry" along with a black background image on his personal social media, raising concerns among those around him. Fortunately, at the time his agency had confirmed Jang Dong-joo's whereabouts and dismissed concerns, saying "it's not a bad situation."
Later, on the 20th of last month he posted on his personal social media, "I sincerely apologize to drama officials, production companies, my agency, family and acquaintances for causing concern due to my recent private circumstances that disrupted smooth communication. Various circumstances overlapped and I needed time to reorganize myself. The delay in communication during this process is entirely my responsibility, and I will not make excuses for any reason. Along with the exclusive contract with his new agency, Jang Dong-joo is set to appear as the lead in SBS's "From Today I Am Human," which is scheduled to premiere on Jan. 16. He is expected to shine again on Friday and Saturday nights as Hyun Woo Seok, who lives a life completely opposite that of Kang Si-yeol (Lomon) as a soccer player.
