'Malja Show' Kim Young-hee offered heartfelt consolation to weary youths while confessing her own extreme attempt.
The second episode of KBS 2TV's 'Malja Show,' which aired on the 25th, was presented as a 'youth·young adults' special. 'Malja halmae' Kim Young-hee listened to young people's concerns and spent time empathizing with them. The young audience, who filled the seats, brought up a variety of stories ranging from dating concerns to serious life questions, and Kim Young-hee confessed her own dark past and offered sincere consolation.
That day's broadcast featured a story from someone who said they had been ghosted after a breakup. Kim Young-hee confessed that she too experienced a ghosting breakup in her early 20s. Kim Young-hee recalled that she unexpectedly ran into her ex-boyfriend, who had disappeared for more than two months after saying his grandmother was gravely ill, at a barbecue restaurant, and she humorously recounted that tense, precarious page of youth with her trademark wit.
Kim Young-hee said, "A ghosting breakup is psychological torment for the other person," and advised, "For the money, time and feelings you spent on the other person, it's cleanest to meet and talk about the breakup." She then naturally handed the microphone to the audience, and by sharing their breakup experiences they came together with laughter and sympathy.
The next story was a young person's concern saying, "My life feels like it's standing still," and that they wanted to stop trying. Kim Young-hee said, "It's okay to be in place," and began to reveal her own past when she had fallen into a pit.
Kim Young-hee said that after her image fell because of family issues beyond her control, she "started walking through a dung field." But she said no one noticed that she was walking, and after years of heartache she concluded, "Foolishly, it was an extreme attempt."
But Kim Young-hee said that whenever she tried to make such an attempt, she found herself becoming ridiculous. She said, "Seeing myself make all kinds of excuses and not doing it made me realize that I wanted to live more than anyone else." She added that nothing changed for a while after that, but what she met while continuing to walk was the current 'Malja halmae.'
Kim Young-hee comforted, "I thought it was a dung field, but as I kept walking in place, that land became fertile," and said, "I can't tell you to be strong. That would be irresponsible. Instead, I hope you keep walking. It may seem like nothing is changing, but change is happening deep beneath the ground." At Kim Young-hee's confession, audience members throughout the hall were seen wiping away tears.
