Singer Park Sang-min mentioned the damage he suffered from the "fake Park Sang-min."
On the 26th, the YouTube channel "Kim Hyun-wook's news, not a drink" featured singer Park Sang-min, who appeared to talk.
Park Sang-min referred to the coronavirus and the "fake Park Sang-min" incident as the most difficult times. Kim Hyun-wook said, "The damage at that time was enormous. There may have been financial damage, but there were even people who called thinking he was the real one," he said.
Park Sang-min said, "The calls started coming. From senior Jeon Young-rok and other seniors, the phone came and when they said, 'Yes, hyung!' they said, 'You Sang-min have become rude. How could you act like you don't know hyung and just leave.' I wasn't there," he lamented.
Park Sang-min continued, "Let me explain this incident for those who don't know. It was a long time ago. My nephew took a photo and sent it to me. He asked, 'Uncle, do you appear on things like this?' When I looked at the photo it said, 'Park Sang-min sudden appearance'—it was all Park Sang-min," he recalled.
He said, "So when I first saw it I felt really good. I thought there was an imitation singer of mine. After that, when I went to the bank, someone said they saw me in Sinchon yesterday. I never went. From a 60th birthday party to absurd festivals, I was said to have gone," he said.
In the end Park Sang-min said he called the "fake Park Sang-min" and talked to him. He said, "We met face to face. He is younger than me. He said, 'I'm sorry, I did it to make a living, I won't do it anymore.' He kept doing it despite saying he wouldn't. I endured for about four years and then appealed to the law," he said.
Park Sang-min, who mobilized from his older sister to the fan club to find evidence, said, "When he came down I got his autograph, and the signature was exactly the same. I went home and connected it to a big screen and our mother said, 'Why is the youngest so swollen?,'" he said.
Park Sang-min said, "When I went to the prosecution for a confrontation, we exchanged IDs and went up like this, and an employee said, 'Oh? Park Sang-min went up earlier,' He had done the same there and come back," adding, "At that time there was no precedent. Do you know how much the fine was? He made tens of millions. It came out to 700,000 won," he revealed.
Park Sang-min also said the "fake Park Sang-min" pleaded for leniency but then acted defiantly once inside. Park Sang-min added, "I tried to smash him through civil action, but I couldn't do it. It was too hard."
