EXO members Suho and Kai shared their thoughts on the 2025 MMA.
On the 25th, EXO's official YouTube channel uploaded a video titled "crybabies' MMA impressions." The word "crybabies" in the title was a phrase that had appeared on DIO's Instagram; at the time, DIO's Instagram revealed a photo of the Kim brothers Suho and Kai embracing with their heads bowed, which was revealed and became a hot topic. It seemed clear that it was an overwhelming moment even for DIO, who does not often take photos well.
The video featured leader Suho and main dancer Kai. They came down still in stage outfits and makeup and expressed their overwhelming feelings. At the MMA held on the 20th, EXO's mere appearance alone took all K-pop fans back to 2013, and EXO was simply seized by the joy of having met their fans.
Kai said, "Wow, MelMu is over!" smiling happily and clapping, then said, "The members were really busy, and we really didn't have time to practice much. We were preparing an album, holding fan meetings, practicing choreography and so on." In response, Suho said, "We have so much to show," with a happy smile. The expressions on both their faces were brimming with the joy after meeting the fans just moments before.
Kai credited the members, saying, "The members really stayed up all night and practiced hard together, so we were able to finish well," and Suho mentioned it was thanks to the fans, saying, "Because EXO-Ls were waiting for us, we worked hard to the end and finished the stage well."
Kai moved fans once more, saying, "We really had many difficult moments. (omitted) All of our members were able to proudly show EXO-L a new stage as proof."
Suho also mentioned the track "Back it up," saying, "'Back it up' is really the beginning. It's EXO's true start," referring to the song included in the new release set to come out next month. At the time of the broadcast, EXO's performance, which seemed poised to break the stage apart, was widely talked about for more than just the feeling of the new song itself.
Suho and Kai hugged each other after saying to one another, "Thanks to you, hyung," and "Jongin worked so hard." Despite many hardships, they did not even mention them. Rather than complaining even once, EXO's actions of simply being happy to have come to see the fans were exactly what being idols is all about. Truly, the brilliant real thing was different.
Suho encouraged Kai once more, saying, "Jongin, as the main dancer, watched all the members' dances and even did 'Love Shot' like this — you really worked hard." Kai worried about Suho, saying, "Hyung also had a cold," and Suho said, "Sehun had a cold too — everyone had colds." For a moment warmed by affection, the captions brought laughter.
The caption read the phrase "even with colds, let's do We Are One," because EXO's slogan "We Are One" had become the fans' buzzword as "let's do We Are One." In fact, EXO's stage that day was so hot that people said, "They really do We Are One." One result was the megahit song "Growl," which was released about 10 years ago, re-entering the Melon top back chart. It was really EXO and EXO-L who "accomplished" We Are One.
EXO accomplished We Are One with their faces, dance, song and hearts for EXO-L, and EXO-L quietly held their ground and accomplished We Are One by still loving them passionately across 14 years.
Finally, Suho expressed thanks once more, saying, "This is the place where Chanyeol and I showed our fighting spirit. After returning with the members in a year, up to EXO's 'Back it up' stage, thank you so much for waiting." At the time, Suho and Chanyeol participated in an SM concert in EXO's name as the two of them, staging h.o.t.'s fighting spirit as their own performance and delivering a message that they would approach as 'EXO,' creating a stage that remained talked about for a long time.
Fans reacted in various ways, including, "Proving EXO by remaining EXO is EXO," "We were so grateful just to see your faces," "Now go to the company dinner and show us you crying — 5-center, I always believed it," "The official account actually did We Are One, that's funny," and "Am I the only one who wants to hear it in their live voices?"
Meanwhile, EXO will make a comeback on the 19th of next month with their eighth full-length album, Reverse.
