Oh My Girl's Seunghee revealed behind-the-scenes acting stories with actress Kim Taeri.
On the Dec. 25 broadcast of MBC entertainment show Radio Star (hereinafter Ras), which was presented as "Christmas special: with excitement," Nam Jin, Sul Woon-do, Jadu and Seunghee appeared.
That day Seunghee revealed episodes with Ra Miran and Kim Taeri, who she worked with in the drama Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born. She recalled, "On the set of Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born, senior Ra Miran appeared as the Director General of the national theater troupe. She treated me very kindly. When I was in the car she would secretly knock on the window and run away and tease me."
About Kim Taeri she said, "Taeri unni gave me a lot of advice. There was a scene where I trip over a broom, and she asked, 'How are you going to act this?' It was my first action scene so I said I didn't know, and she advised that how about falling twice, so after falling once and falling again that scene came alive," expressing her gratitude.
Seunghee also confessed, "Only senior Ra Miran immediately noticed, but I had gained a little weight during filming. I ate a lot. Seeing that she said, 'Chorok, ask to change your clothes. It looks like your clothes will burst.'"
Kim Gu Ra, surprised that Seunghee said she gained 5kg during filming, asked, "What did you eat so much?" and Seunghee shyly answered, "I ate a lot of late-night snacks."
Explaining why she gained weight, Seunghee said, "But when I asked why I gained so much they said for idols normally you only need to be slim for exactly two weeks while doing music shows. You just need to be very thin. But because it's a drama and you shoot for a year you couldn't maintain it. My weight kept going up and down so my body..."
Then Kim Gu Ra remarked, "You lost weight even though you haven't been active lately," noting the changed appearance. To this Seunghee opened up, "I was really shocked when I watched Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born. There were many scenes where I was with Taeri unni. In one audition scene I played the female role and unni played the male role."
She continued, "We grabbed each other and acted sorrowfully and I have bigger hands and a bigger face. I was shocked when I saw the footage and thought, 'This won't do. Lose it.' And then I lost almost 10kg," she confessed.
In particular Seunghee said she was misunderstood as being depressed while losing 10kg and clarified, "They asked me if I had depression. I don't even have blackout curtains at home and I like a lot of natural light. Acquaintances kept saying on social media that I had depression and that's why I lost weight. So I want to take this opportunity to explain that it wasn't depression; I lost it because I myself was shocked."
At that moment Nam Jin showed affection, saying, "My younger sister must have looked even prettier with more weight. Chubby and lovely," and Kim Kook Jin joked, "She must have dropped it completely after hearing a song."
