HBO crime drama 'The Wire(The Wire)' is a work that has risen to the ranks of 'the greatest TV series of all time' with a narrative that faces reality head-on and deep empathy for humanity. However, as time passes, rewatching this masterpiece leaves fans with both sweetness and bitterness. this is because the main actors died at relatively young ages.
According to the Daily Mail's report on the 24th (local time), the recent news of the death of actor James Ransone, who made a strong impression as Ziggy Sobotka, once again increased the sense of loss. Ransone died last week at the age of 46, becoming the seventh death among The Wire cast members.
Condolences from colleagues followed. Wendell Pierce mourned, saying, "Brother, I'm sorry. Rest in peace," and Andrés Muschietti, the director who connected with him through It: Chapter Two, also said, "I was lucky to have met him." Melvin Williams, the legendary figure who provided real-life inspiration for the work, also ended his life in 2015 at age 73. In May this year, Charlie Scalise of "Horseface Pakusa" died at 84.
In interviews during his lifetime, Ransone openly spoke of childhood sexual trauma and the pain of addiction stemming from it. He succeeded in sobriety and staying away from drugs and alcohol in his late 20s and immersed himself in acting, but ultimately the weight of life would not let him go.
