Comedian Jee Seokjin is keeping vigil at the funeral wake for his mother.
On the 24th, Jee Seokjin's mother passed away in the early morning from natural causes related to old age. The wake was set up at Asan Medical Center funeral hall, and Jee Seokjin was listed as the chief mourner.
The funeral procession will be held on the 26th at 5:20 a.m., and the burial site is Eden Paradise in Icheon, Gyeonggi.
This sad news came at a somewhat special time for Jee Seokjin, making it even more heartbreaking. He on the 21st attended the "3rd Pinggego Awards" where, after 33 years since his debut, he won a grand prize for the first time.
At the time, Jee Seokjin said in his remarks, "This is the first grand prize I've ever received since I was born. I felt that the saying 'if you endure and endure, good days will come' is sincere," conveying his moving feelings about his first grand prize.
