Singer Seo Taiji released a photo and an update after about a year, but the long-awaited good news did not arrive, and his wife Lee Eun-seong was also not seen, leaving fans disappointed.
On Dec. 24, Seo Taiji posted a long message on his official channel titled "a peaceful 2025 Christmas Eve." He began, "I can't believe 2026 is already just around the corner," and then first addressed the music activities that fans would be most curious about.
He said, "Although I lived this past year working hard, I'm sorry that I don't think I can deliver the 'good news' that fans so eagerly await," informing that there was no news of a new album or concerts. He then soothed fans' disappointment with a joking remark saying, "There are vicious rumors that fans no longer even expect anything," expressing his regret.
Instead of an extravagant comeback project, Seo Taiji talked about "family" and "the passage of time." He introduced familiar daily moments such as laughing when his song "Come Back Home" played while watching the drama Bon Appétit, Your Majesty with his family, and the whole family shedding tears while watching the drama "I was completely fooled" (Pokssak Sokatssuda).
The story about his noticeably grown daughter Dami drew particular attention. Seo Taiji relayed news of reuniting with child actor Ellie, who appeared in the music video for the 9th album's "Chrismaloween," saying, "Cute Ellie and Dami, who was born after prenatal affection for Ellie, used to follow Ellie a lot, but now both are grown and act like friends, getting along so well that they giggle."
Born in 2014, Dami has already become a teenage girl, and Seo Taiji looked on with both delight and a sense of generational change as she mingled with her older friend. He confessed frankly as a middle-aged father feeling the flow of time, saying, "It feels somehow unreal. The kids keep growing rapidly and it seems like only we are getting older."
Seo Taiji also filled the past year's hiatus by adding his special interest in Autonomous Driving technology and an Alaska travelogue, and he offered consolation to fans who may be struggling with childcare, work and caring for elderly parents, saying, "I hope that our own 'warm' memories become a deep source of support for each other even when we are far apart."

Lee Eun-seong married Seo Taiji in 2013 after appearing in the 2009 film National Team and has since stopped activities in the entertainment industry. After giving birth to their daughter in 2014, she has focused on childcare, and the last time Lee Eun-seong was photographed with Seo Taiji was at the 2014 funeral for the late Shin Hae-chul. Fans had hoped Seo Taiji's recent update might reveal Lee Eun-seong's situation, but she did not appear in the photos, which disappointed many.
