Comedian Park Narae at the center of the so‑called 'alleged injection aunt' controversy is spreading throughout the entertainment industry, and numerous stars have stepped forward one after another to deny the allegations and offer explanations.
Davichi's Kang Minkyung on the 20th posted on her personal social media, "Because some people are curious about matters unrelated to me through Instagram and YouTube comments, I cautiously say this," and said, "The things you are worried about are completely unrelated to me." This was an explanation in response to suspicions that arose after reports said Kang Minkyung was included in the follow list on the social media account of A, who is known as Park Narae's 'alleged injection aunt.' Kang Minkyung said, "I did not want to cause unnecessary concern to those waiting for the January performances," reassuring fans, and later shared heartwarming news about donations from the brand she runs.
Singer Hong Jin-young was also embroiled in controversy when a photo of her taken with A was released in the past, but her agency drew a line, saying, "It is just a photo taken about 12 years ago during a hospital sponsored shoot, and there is no familiarity or exchange at all." Hong Jin-young herself dismissed the allegation, saying, "The shoot was so long ago that I don't even remember the timing."
In the case of broadcaster Jun Hyun-moo, a 'vehicle IV' scene revealed on a 2016 entertainment program drew renewed attention and led to a report accusing him of violating the Medical Service Act. In response, his agency SM C&C said, "At the time he visited the hospital in person for pharyngitis and other issues, he received a doctor's examination and prescription, and the treatment was finished while in transit due to scheduling," explaining it was a lawful medical act. Jun Hyun-moo's side emphasized legality by disclosing the medical records and payment details from that time and said it would cooperate sincerely with the investigation.
Meanwhile, A, who is called the 'alleged injection aunt,' is suspected of administering injections and IV fluids to celebrities without a Korean medical license and illegally supplying and administering psychotropic drugs such as appetite suppressants. In the process, Park Narae has suspended all activities amid allegations that she received procedures at her home and in her vehicle.
As the controversy grew, names of several entertainers besides Kang Minkyung, Hong Jin-young and Jun Hyun-moo were mentioned, but many have strongly denied it, saying, "I am not related at all." Amid this turmoil that shook the entertainment world, concerns are also growing about reckless allegations raised before fact verification.
