Actor Lee Yi-kyung will temporarily step away from Brave Detective 4 due to personal reasons.
On the 24th, the producers of 티캐스트 E채널 variety show Brave Detective 4 said, "Actor Lee Yi-kyung, who has played a reliable role as an MC, will step away from his MC duties on Brave Detective 4 for the time being due to personal reasons. Accordingly, various guests will appear on Brave Detective 4 over the coming weeks," they said.
This was an official response to the speculation earlier that day that Lee Yi-kyung would leave Brave Detective 4. Earlier, one outlet reported that Lee Yi-kyung had effectively left Brave Detective 4 and that the show would be organized with a guest system through the end of January 2026.
Lee Yi-kyung was recently embroiled in a private life rumor that he had exchanged sexual messages with an overseas internet user via social media. Lee Yi-kyung and his agency have said the claims are unfounded and are pursuing legal action against the internet user.
Nevertheless, as a result Lee Yi-kyung stepped down from his regular role on the MBC variety show Hangout With Yoo. He also canceled his appearance on KBS 2TV variety show The Return of SUPERMAN, which he had been scheduled to join.
However, Lee Yi-kyung said he was unfairly treated, claiming he was removed from Hangout With Yoo at the production team's urging and that he confirmed through reports that he was removed from The Return of SUPERMAN. He personally expressed gratitude to ENA and SBS Plus variety shows I'm SOLO and Brave Detective 4, among his remaining projects.
