Tax accountant Ahn Sunam pointed out comedian Park Narae's salary issue.
On the 23rd, a video titled "If you pay mom's boyfriend like this... the National Tax Service knows everything like a ghost" was posted on the YouTube channel "Retirement School."
Tax accountant Ahn Sunam said, "Park Narae underwent a tax audit in 2023, and the tax firm didn't seem to consider it an issue. It seems they appointed the mother as the CEO, and they appear to have processed the boyfriend as salary."
He continued, "But actual salary should be paid as compensation for the labor of a regularly employed worker. Didn't you say the mother was in Mokpo? Paying salary when she did not actually work is definitely wrong," he pointed out.
He also said, "The boyfriend must have had a role for the work he did. Then there should have been evidence showing whether he acted as a manager, a stylist, or planned something; those things should have been left as grounds. Regarding the tax audit results, they say it's a difference in tax law interpretation between the National Tax Service and the taxpayer, but I don't think it's a difference in tax law interpretation."
He added, "Because it was used as fabricated expenses, it was disallowed as fabricated expense processing, and from the company's perspective, there is ample possibility that it constitutes embezzlement in the course of business."
On criminal matters, he said, "I don't know how that will turn out. Regarding that part, the tax audit reportedly recovered tens of millions of won, so compared with sales, the amount recovered as tax is not large. Compared with entertainers who were fined hundreds of millions, the scale was not large. However, when it came to one-person corporations, they were all disallowed when investigated; at that time, would this have been treated leniently? From the perspective of those one-person corporations later disallowed, it is not fair."
He added, "The case is now under review at the tax tribunal. So some entertainers were disallowed and some entertainers have cases still pending, so attention is focused on the outcome."
Earlier, Park Narae underwent an irregular (special) tax audit by the Seoul Regional Tax Service's Audit Division 2 at the end of 2022 and was assessed additional unpaid taxes of tens of millions of won. Regarding this, the agency said, "Concerning the taxes reported this time, it was only an additional tax payment due to differences of opinion in tax law interpretation during coordination between the tax authorities and the tax accountant," and added, "We state that this has nothing to do with malicious tax evasion."
