"Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight" Choo Young-Woo revealed his dating style, saying "I currently do not have a girlfriend."
On the morning of the 24th, an interview with Choo Young-Woo, the lead actor of Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight, was held at a cafe on Samcheong-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
The film Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight (hereafter Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight) is a youthful melodrama in which Seo Yoon (Shin Si A), who loses a day's memory every day, and Jae Won (Choo Young-Woo), who fills her memories every day, protect each other and remember one another. It is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Ichijo Misaki, which has sold 1.3 million copies worldwide, and is a remake of the 2022 Japanese film adapted to Korean sensibilities.
Choo Young-Woo, who established himself as a leading young actor through dramas such as The Trauma Code: Heroes on call and Head Over Heels, and Shin Si A, who delivered impressive performances in diverse works including The Witch Part 2: The Other One and The Old Woman with the Knife, show a fresh and wistful youthful chemistry. The film was directed by Kim Hye-Young, who won the Silver Bear for her debut film IT′S OKAY! at the 2024 Berlin International Film Festival and the New Director Award at the 2025 Blue Dragon Film Awards, who newly interpreted the sentiment of the original work in a Korean emotional context.
Choo Young-Woo gave a passionate performance as Jae Won, who, bored with life and without a goal, begins a fake relationship with Seo Yoon, who suffers from anterograde amnesia.
Regarding the similarities between the film's fantasy-like Jae Won character and himself, he said, "When I date someone, I tend to do everything for her. That person's happiness feels like my happiness, and even if I'm a little tired, I prefer the person I like to be comfortable. I think love is being able to give up even your favorite things."
When asked, "How far have you conceded?" he said, "If I go two days without eating and someone gives chicken, I can give that up for (my girlfriend). Isn't that a huge thing?" which drew laughter. He added, "I'm not dating right now. I'm very busy. Tomorrow I'm going to Tokyo, Japan, and after going to a fan meeting and returning, I will head straight to the set. If I dated now, it would probably be over," he said with a laugh.
On the image that he might be a dating expert, he said, "I hear that a lot, and I like watching dating variety shows. I watch them all. Strangely, people around me often ask me for advice. I watched a lot this year, and 'Better Late Than Single' was the best. (laughs) I hope season 2 comes out soon," showing his sincerity.
When asked jokingly, "If you had to choose between The Trauma Code: Heroes on call season 2 and Better Late Than Single season 2?", he replied, "Of course The Trauma Code: Heroes on call season 2. I watched that not long ago. Someone waiting for season 2 even made a BL novel about Baek Kang-hyuk and Yang Jae-won. I glanced at it with squinty eyes. (laughs) There is nothing confirmed about The Trauma Code: Heroes on call season 2. It's not something I can decide. The adults aren't saying anything. My parents are very curious too, but I can't answer them," he added.
Meanwhile, Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight opens on Dec. 24, Christmas Eve.
