Singer MC Mong and Won Hundred chairman Cha Ga-won denied allegations of an affair.
On the 24th, entertainment agency Won Hundred issued an official statement calling the affair rumors between Cha Ga-won and MC Mong "groundless."
In this regard, Won Hundred said in an official statement, "The article content and the KakaoTalk conversations were all untrue. These were manipulated and sent after MC Mong was threatened by Cha Jun-young, a relative of Chairman Cha Ga-won."
It added, "At the time, Cha Jun-young threatened to force MC Mong to sell his shares to take control of Big Planet Made, and during that process the manipulated KakaoTalk messages of MC Mong were delivered," and explained, "We suspect that Cha Jun-young passed these KakaoTalk contents to the outlet that reported the story."
It also said, "After checking the reports, MC Mong contacted the company to apologize, and we plan to take strong legal action against Cha Jun-young and The Fact Co., which first reported the story," adding, "We promise to respond with a zero-tolerance policy and no leniency toward malicious slander and spreading false information aimed at our artists and management. We earnestly ask that baseless speculative reporting and defamation be refrained from."
That day a media outlet reported that MC Mong and Cha Ga-won had been in an affair in the past, and that when the two broke up MC Mong ended his contractual relationship with Won Hundred. The report also claimed that during the affair Cha Ga-won transferred as much as 12 billion won to MC Mong, and that as a result MC Mong incurred 12 billion won in debt.
As evidence supporting this, the outlet published what it said were KakaoTalk mobile messenger conversations between MC Mong and Cha Ga-won. Among them were messages that suggested Cha Ga-won discussed having a child with MC Mong, and shocking claims that MC Mong mentioned azoospermia and that Cha Ga-won prepared in vitro injections for three months.
However, MC Mong refuted all of the claims via his personal social media. He said Cha Jun-young, Cha Ga-won's uncle, came to him and threatened him to give up his shares in Big Planet Made, and that in the process he passed along conversations that had been manipulated to portray Cha Ga-won as his friend. He said he tried to contact the reporting outlet after seeing the coverage but was unable to reach them. He also alleged that Cha Jun-young targeted Cha Ga-won's management rights and company and fabricated an inappropriate relationship with MC Mong and leaked it to the media.
Won Hundred is an entertainment agency founded in 2023 by Chairman Cha Ga-won and MC Mong. It oversees Big Planet Made Entertainment (commonly known as BPM), Million Market, INB100 and others. MC Mong stepped down in May from his position as co-founder and chief producer of Won Hundred. <
