'Park Narae gate' controversy known as 'injection aunt' has engulfed singer Hong Jin-young. However, Hong Jin-young's side dismissed the controversy, saying it happened 12 years ago.
On the 22nd, a YouTube channel released a photo of Hong Jin-young with A, who is called the 'injection aunt,' raising suspicions that the two might have a personal relationship.
The 'injection aunt' is a figure suspected of providing illegal medical procedures to entertainment industry stars such as Park Narae. A, the 'injection aunt,' is suspected of performing medical acts (injections, intravenous infusions, etc.) for money without a Korean medical license, and of procuring or illicitly obtaining psychotropic drugs such as phentermine-class appetite suppressants called 'butterfly drugs' through proxy prescriptions or illegally, then delivering and administering them to celebrities.
The entertainment world has been devastated by A, who was mentioned during the exposure of Park Narae's abuse of power allegations. Park Narae has suspended activities entirely after a former manager's tip alleged she received multiple procedures at home and in a car from the injection aunt and received drugs prescribed on her behalf.
Not only Park Narae but also Jung Jae-hyung, SHINee's Onew, Key, Eat-Short Haetnim, Jun Hyun-moo, and Kang Minkyung were named as figures related to the injection aunt, and among them Key and Eat-Short Haetnim admitted to receiving treatment and suspended activities. Meanwhile, Jung Jae-hyung, Onew, Jun Hyun-moo, and Kang Minkyung dismissed the controversy, saying they had nothing to do with the injection aunt.
As the injection aunt controversy sweeps the entertainment industry, suspicions were raised that Hong Jin-young might have a personal relationship because of a photo taken in the past, but OSEN reporting confirmed that the photo released with the allegation was taken about 12 years ago and that Hong Jin-young and A have no personal relationship.
Hong Jin-young's side explained, "We understand that the photo was taken when Hong Jin-young was active with 'Boogieman' after 'Love Battery,' as stated with the posted content. Calculating the years, it is presumed to have been taken at a hospital about 12 years ago, and after checking the photo Hong Jin-young herself said the shooting time was too long ago and she has no memory at all of A, who was in the photo."
They added, "While performing as a singer, Hong Jin-young has taken many photos at the request of various products, brands, and hospitals for sponsored proof shots through multiple channels, but visiting and shooting at that particular hospital was so long ago that she cannot remember it."
