Broadcaster Lee Ji Hye revealed a noticeably changed face after philtrum reduction surgery, and her reaction of getting angry at jokes about her philtrum on the show drew laughter.
Lee Ji Hye recently posted a photo on her social media with the caption, "A model student who waits at home between schedules and then goes," showing her sitting on a sofa in comfortable clothes with full makeup, taking a break. In particular, her more defined appearance after recently undergoing philtrum reduction surgery attracted attention.
Earlier, on the 20th of last month, Lee Ji Hye revealed on the YouTube channel "Not an annoying attention seeker sister" that she had undergone philtrum reduction surgery. She said, "My philtrum is honestly 4 cm. It has gotten longer as I aged," and added, "Among the silhouette lifting comments, the one that kept catching my eye was to get philtrum reduction. It was the finishing touch." She explained the reason for the surgery, saying, "I wanted to reduce a complex, and when I heard that philtrum reduction would make me prettier, I decided to do it," and "After worrying for over a year, I gained confidence from the silhouette lifting and found the courage to do it once more."
Meanwhile, on the Feb. 22 episode of SBS "Same Bed, Different Dreams season 2 — You Are My Destiny," Lee Ji Hye once again provided laughter by getting angry at jokes about her philtrum.
That day, Lee Ji Hye greeted singer lineup panelist Nabi and special MC Ailee. When Nabi mentioned trying to recruit celebrities for the soccer class her husband runs, Lee Ji Hye joked, "Korea's Alicia Keys (Nabi) is begging Korea's Mariah Carey (Ailee) too much," which provoked uproarious laughter.
In response, Seo Jang-hoon said, "Keep your pride. Korea's Mariah Carey (Ailee) is too haughty," and added, "And Lee Ji Hye is Korea's Celine Dion." Then Lee Ji Hye immediately snapped back, "Are you calling me Celine Dion because my philtrum is long?" which made everyone laugh even more. She then smoothed things over by saying, "Sorry. Celine Dion is self-proclaimed, self-proclaimed," turning the studio into a sea of laughter.
