Actor Park Jung-woo stood out from his first appearance in "Idol I."
Park Jung-woo made his first appearance as Choi Jae-hee in the Genie TV original drama "Idol I" (directed by Lee Kwang-young, written by Kim Da-rin, planned by KT Studio Jini, produced by ASTORY), which was first released on the 22nd.
"Idol I" is a mystery courtroom romance in which superfan lawyer Maeng Se-na (Choi Sooyoung) takes on the case of her favorite, Do Ra-ik (Kim Jaeyeong), who is accused of murder. Park Jung-woo plays Choi Jae-hee, the drummer of the band Gold Boys to which Do Ra-ik belongs.
In that episode, Jae-hee sneered at Ra-ik, who did not show up in the waiting room before the concert rehearsal, saying, "You have no sense." Then, to the belatedly arriving Ra-ik, he expressed discomfort in a cutting tone, saying, "Is it okay for the lead to be this late?" and poured out long-held complaints, saying, "There isn't a guest to call, so they forced us to come. They're using us."
In response to Ra-ik's cynical counterattack, Jae-hee's emotions were uncontrollably shaken. Eventually, Jae-hee stormed to his feet and crossed the line, saying, "Is it something to be proud of to have suffered under a mother who drifted from bar to bar?" At that moment, without hesitation, he threw a punch at Ra-ik's face as Ra-ik lunged at him, pushing viewers' tension to the extreme.
Park Jung-woo drew admiration by convincingly portraying Jae-hee's hollowness and anger with his eyes and expressions as the scene escalated into shouting and a scuffle. Through the collision scene with Ra-ik, his intense line delivery and physical acting, unreserved, instantly imprinted the character of Jae-hee and strongly aroused curiosity about future developments.
With Park Jung-woo's explosive emotional acting leaving a deep impression from the first episode, global viewers are intensely focused on how the conflict between Choi Jae-hee and Do Ra-ik and the story moving forward will unfold.
The Genie TV original drama "Idol I," starring Park Jung-woo, airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m. on ENA, and the OTT is available on Netflix.<
