Singer HANRORO received her first award at a music awards ceremony.
HANRORO won the "Track Zero Choice" institutional sector award at The 17th Melon Music Awards (2025 Melon Music Awards, MMA2025) held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 20th.
That day HANRORO said, "I am very happy to receive an award at 'MMA2025.' In a cold world, I will quietly keep making music that will warm your tomorrow," and she added, "I dedicate this honor to the many people who always support me, the fans, and my family. Thank you once again," she said.
Track Zero Choice is an institutional sector that selects songs and artists that have contributed to the diversity of popular culture with their own genres and styles. This year's Track Zero Choice winner is the title track "Time Runs Differently" from HANRORO's third EP "Grapefruit Apricot Club," released last August.
Through the EP "Grapefruit Apricot Club," HANRORO built her own distinctive worldview by organically linking literature and music. As a result, this award is seen as further proof of HANRORO's potential as an artist who combines musicality and narrative.
In July HANRORO published her first novel, "Grapefruit Apricot Club," which shares the same title as the EP, containing stories of growth, friendship and solidarity among young people living in an age of anxiety. She then released the EP "Grapefruit Apricot Club," which shares the same worldview as the novel, offering warm comfort to young people through music and eliciting deep empathy and support from readers and listeners.
This narrative expansion naturally formed HANRORO's unique worldview and has led to what is known as the "HANRORO craze." As proof, HANRORO was named "Content of the Year" at the 12th Kyobo Bookstore Publishing Awards and went on to win the Track Zero Choice institutional sector at MMA2025, continuing her distinctive trajectory across music and literature.
Not stopping with the 'MMA2025' award, HANRORO is set to appear on the Dec. 31 "2025 MBC Gayo Daejejeon" stage, drawing public attention. As HANRORO continues to expand her storytelling with her own language and sensibility, expectations are growing about what musical direction she will shape next.
