Group WJSN member Dayoung showcased her candid and straightforward charm.
Cosmopolitan, a fashion and lifestyle magazine, released the pictorial and interview with Dayoung on the 23rd.
The released pictorial captures Dayoung's diverse charms under Cosmopolitan's slogan "FUN FEARLESS FEMALE." In the pictorial, Dayoung captivated attention by perfectly pulling off a range of styles with her own charm, from hip casual looks to sexy and enchanting bralettes.
Dayoung released her first solo album, 'gonna love me, right?' last September and announced a successful solo debut. After winning first place on music shows with the title track "body," she drew explosive reactions from global fans with challenge videos featuring various K-pop artists, actors, dancers and creators.
Not only in Korea, but the British music magazine NME, the American business magazine Forbes, FOX 13 Seattle and numerous MTV channels focused on Dayoung's solo debut. In addition, "body" was selected on NME's "2025 best K-pop songs 25" list and was also recognized for its musical achievements by Billboard and Teen Vogue in the United States.
This pictorial focused on capturing Dayoung's confident and bold look as she continues her hot streak into 2026. During the shoot, Dayoung reportedly displayed her characteristic bright and positive energy from start to finish, completing a professional and flawless pictorial that elicited admiration from everyone.
In an interview after the pictorial shoot, Dayoung recalled the challenges she faced as a solo artist, saying, "I've always wanted to be a woman with grounds for what she does. I don't act without basis, so I can emit my presence without standing out awkwardly. I wanted to prove that I'm someone who can do what I pursue well."
She also spoke about the shining results of her first solo album, 'gonna love me, right?,' which came after intense effort. Dayoung said, "Not long ago at the 2025 Korea Grand Music Awards with iM Bank (2025 KGMA) I also won the female best solo artist award. I was so grateful and happy. I also held a first-place trophy 14 days after my solo debut, but at the time I was so dazed I don't think I felt the joy fully. Looking back now, 'wow, I really was something!'" she said, expressing her joy.
Finally, when asked about her dreams, Dayoung answered, "In 2011 I went to a museum in Jeju and wrote a letter to myself 10 years later. That little kid wrote, 'In 10 years, I will be a global pop star! And I will be the best at singing and dancing in the world!' That girl's dream remains. I want to be someone who can be loved in Korea and around the world, and I will be," raising expectations for her future moves.
More of Dayoung's pictorials and interview can be seen in Cosmopolitan's January 2026 issue and on its website and social media.
