"A photo from 12 years ago I don't even remember" Hong Jin-young draws a line on friendship rumors with 'Jusai-mo'
Singer Hong Jin-young strongly denied allegations of ties to the so-called 'Jusai-mo' and moved to stop the controversy.
On the 23rd, Hong Jin-young's agency said in an official statement that the recent online rumors about her friendship with 'Jusai-mo' Mr. A are not true. According to the agency, the problematic photo is believed to have been taken at a hospital about 12 years ago, when Hong Jin-young was active with 'Boogieman' after 'Love Battery.'
The agency drew a line, saying, "Hong Jin-young herself said she has no memory at all of Ms./Mr. IOO, who took the photo, because the time of shooting was so long ago," and "the two are not even following each other on social media and have no acquaintance." The agency added, "As an artist, she often took photos for requests from hospitals, brands, and product sponsorships, and this photo appears to be one of those cases," and asked, "Please refrain from speculative reporting."
Earlier, a YouTube channel released a photo of Hong Jin-young with 'Jusai-mo' Mr. A and suggested a possible connection between the two. However, OSEN's reporting confirmed the photo was taken 12 years ago, and Hong Jin-young's side also said, "She has no relationship with Mr. A," giving the impression that the allegation has for the time being been settled.
'Jusai-mo' Mr. A recently emerged during the exposure by comedian Park Narae's former manager and became central to allegations of proxy prescriptions of psychotropic drugs and illegal procedures performed by nonmedical personnel. In the process, many entertainers' names—Jung Jae-hyung, SHINee members Key and Onew, Jun Hyun-moo, Eomjjalbeun Haetnim, and Kang Minkyung—were mentioned, spreading the fallout across the entertainment industry, and the related entertainers have repeatedly offered explanations.
Park Narae's side denied illegal medical suspicions, saying, "She only received vitamin injections from someone with a medical license," but the controversy has grown as evidence surfaced that Mr. A does not have a domestic medical license. Park Narae, Mr. A, and the former manager have been accused and reported on charges including violations of the Narcotics Control Act (psychotropic drugs) and violations of the Medical Service Act and the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, and investigations are underway.
In the meantime, Hong Jin-young's side, which was caught in the crossfire, firmly denied the friendship rumors with 'Jusai-mo,' saying, "Baseless suspicions are being raised over a single photo from 12 years ago that I don't even remember," clearly distancing herself from the controversy.
