Hyoyeon confessed that she once sneaked out during Girls' Generation activities.

Hyoyeon said that early in her debut she once wrote an apology letter over a single hamburger. Hyoyeon said, "They even wouldn't let me go to a hamburger shop. They said it was because I might gain a lot of weight during adolescence. I did everything I wanted to do."
Hyoyeon said, "They told me not to date. I don't date, but who caught me and scolded me? Then I thought it would be okay. Once, I wanted to meet my boyfriend. When I couldn't sneak out, I went out at 3 a.m. because it seemed like everyone was asleep. There was nowhere to go except the Han River," she said.
Hyoyeon said, "I met him at the Han River. There was a rumor that if you wore a bucket hat or a cap at the Han River, everyone assumed you were a celebrity. They said SM kids usually did that. If someone came wearing a bucket hat, they would look at each other and then turn away," she said, drawing laughter.
Hyoyeon added, "Even if we just saw each other briefly, it was nice. Isn't it thrilling?"
