SEVENTEEN's new unit Dokyeom X Seungkwan aims squarely at winter sentiment with a deeper mood.
HYBE music group label PLEDIS Entertainment Co. posted the official photo for the Dokyeom X Seungkwan mini album 1st, soyeon (素戀) version, on SEVENTEEN's official SNS at 10 p.m. on the 22nd. The version name combines so (素), meaning "original" or "pure," and yeon (戀), meaning "longing" or "love," to represent "unadorned love."
First, Dokyeom depicted a moment wholly focused on love for one person. His expression, as if slowly looking into the feelings kept deep in his heart, is quite serious. The background, reminiscent of a soundproofing wall, conveys a quiet and intimate atmosphere.
Seungkwan's photo captures a scene where love resonates. The direction that expresses the process of inner emotions echoing out as rippling shadows in a clean space catches the eye. Seungkwan's gaze, quietly staring into the camera, amplifies the romantic mood.
"Soya-gok" means a "serenade," a love song sung at night, and it expresses in music all the processes between meeting and parting — boredom, discord and even new beginnings. Dokyeom X Seungkwan unpacked the theme of ordinary love through their own emotional storytelling to create an album everyone can relate to and immerse themselves in.
The two will release "Soya-gok" at 6 p.m. on Jan. 12 next year and open the door to activities in 2026. Ahead of that, today (the 23rd) they will additionally reveal official photos that give a sense of the new album's concept. A track sampler, track list, cinema poster, highlight medley and official teaser will also be released sequentially.
