On the 23rd, agency Mode House released an official statement saying, "We are conducting close monitoring to eradicate posts that explicitly contain malicious slander, spreading of false information, personal attacks and defamation against our artists online and on social media."
It added, "In particular, because the crime of defamation is a serious offense punishable under Article 307, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Criminal Act by up to five years in prison, up to 10 years of suspension of qualifications or a fine of up to 10 million won, we are managing this even more thoroughly," it said.
The agency added, "Mode House will strongly respond to malicious slander, spreading of false information, personal attacks and defamation, and we emphasize that there will be no leniency or settlements along with legal action."
Finally, it emphasized, "Mode House once again promises to do its best to protect its artists."
