Actress Yoo In-young spoke about her past experience auditioning for SM.

That day Yoo In-young tried idol makeup. She said, "My teams have always talked to me about it for a long time. But I really dislike it. I hate forcing myself to look younger. I kept saying I disliked it, disliked it, but here I am now."
She continued, "Still, since I was doing it, I wanted to do it well, so I contacted our stylist friend and said, 'Please prepare some idol clothes,' but do you know what she said? 'But idol sample clothes are really small.' I worried a lot about what if they didn't fit? What if the makeup is pretty but the clothes don't fit and fat spills out. But fortunately they fit. I've lost a lot of weight these days," and she expressed concern, "Usually when you come to a hotel room service is the main thing, but don't I have something to do tomorrow? So I will probably pass today."
Especially Yoo In-young said regretfully, "I sometimes thought that. If I were 20 years younger... it's not 20 years? If I were 25 years younger I would have auditioned for an idol," then recalled past memories, "I auditioned long ago. I didn't even think, 'Oh, this is an audition.' The production team asked, "Can we hear you sing once?" and Yoo In-young revealed, "No. If I had passed there I wouldn't be here. I would be debuting under SM. I did audition for SM," which surprised viewers.
Then the production team asked, "These days don't groups have specific people in charge? Is there a role you want, or something you think you could fit?" and Yoo In-young said, "Don't I give off a cat vibe? A haughty feeling? If I open my mouth that might break. So I don't talk much — how about a bit of mystique?" She added, "I don't think there are many of those kinds of people these days. Mystique seems to have largely disappeared. It's an era where you have to sell yourself," describing the changed atmosphere.

Recently she appeared in the KBS2 weekend drama For Eagle Brothers and is preparing for the release of her next drama The Chain.
