Actor Kim Yun-hye demonstrated detailed acting and proved her solid acting chops.
Kim Yun-hye played the role of Choi Su-a in the fifth episode of KBS2's single-episode project Love: Track, "There is no man to carry my father's coffin," which aired on the 21st.
Only child Choi Su-a calmly accepted the situation of having to hold her father's funeral alone. With no time to feel sorrow, Choi Su-a, driven into a practical situation, shouted at the funeral director, "My mother and I are new to this. It's the first time my father has died, too."
Torn between her ex-boyfriend Han Jeong-min (played by Kwon Su-hyun), whom she had dated for 10 years, and her current boyfriend Kang In-ho (played by Kim Min-chul), whom she has been with for 100 days, Choi Su-a flexibly rode the oscillations of her turbulent emotions. At times she poured out resentful words to Han Jeong-min, who had hurt her in the past, and at other times she found stability in Kang In-ho's comforting arms.
In the scene where she confesses her longing for her father, Choi Su-a's restrained sorrow showed through. She murmured, "Even if I make things hard for you, please live a little longer," conveying the full weight of the life she had taken on and cutting into viewers' hearts.
At her father's send-off ceremony, Choi Su-a unleashed all the emotions she had been suppressing. Carrying the memorial photo and walking silently, she eventually collapsed and wailed, her face saturated with love and regret for her father, delivering a deep resonance.
Through "There is no man to carry my father's coffin," Kim Yun-hye successfully steered the high-density emotions characteristic of single-episode dramas and anchored the narrative. At times indifferent and at times tender, she realistically portrayed the image of a daughter and moved living rooms across the country.
In particular, critics say Kim Yun-hye drew viewers in with nothing but the trembling of her eyes, expressions and voice amid the complexly building emotional line. As she continues to show performances imbued with her distinct color in each work, attention is focused on her future moves.<
