Dancer-turned-actor Cha Hyun-seung delivered the joyful news that he has been declared cured of leukemia, moving many people deeply.
On the 22nd, a video titled "I'll try to be stronger" was released on the YouTube channel 'Cha Hyun-seung.' That day Cha Hyun-seung visited the hospital to hear the bone marrow test results and said, "I think the results will be good, but I'm kind of nervous. I guess this can't be helped," revealing his tense feelings.
In the examination room the doctor told Cha Hyun-seung, "You are cleanly and well cured," and Cha Hyun-seung, "Hearing it for sure makes me feel tremendously good. I'm so happy," broke into a bright smile. The doctor said, "You've been through a lot. You can now live doing whatever you want. Just avoid things bad for your body like drinking or smoking," and guided him to a follow-up test in three months.
Holding the test results, Cha Hyun-seung burst into laughter once again. The cancer center's head nurse had written an encouraging note saying, "You've endured a long time. May your days be filled only with peaceful routines and the excitement of achieving your dreams."
Back home Cha Hyun-seung said, "I came home after receiving the cure diagnosis. I can't believe it and I feel so good and happy," and "When I went to the hospital it was around May, but now it's just before Christmas. It feels like I've been gifted a second life as a Christmas present," conveying his overwhelming emotions. He also revealed his inner thoughts during chemotherapy. "I think my mind suffered more than my body. At first I thought 'no way,' but once I became certain I wondered, 'why is this happening to me?'" he confessed
.He then left a warm message for fellow patients who are still fighting. Cha Hyun-seung said, "Rather than thinking 'I must absolutely overcome this' in extremely difficult situations, mentally it's better to accept it stoically by thinking 'this too shall pass,'" and encouraged, "You just must not give up. I hope everyone definitely overcomes it."
Meanwhile Cha Hyun-seung gained recognition as a dancer for singer Sunmi, became known for the 2018 'Waterbomb' stage and the 2021 Netflix "Single's Inferno" season 1 appearance. He later transitioned to acting and continued his acting activities, and in September he disclosed his battle with leukemia and received much support. Having passed through the long tunnel called leukemia and met the light called "cure," Cha Hyun-seung. Warm support from fans and the public continues for his new steps toward his "second life."<
