Broadcaster Park Mi-seon ultimately issued a handwritten apology over the controversy surrounding group-buying of health supplements.
On the 22nd, Park Mi-seon posted a handwritten letter on her social account and expressed her apology.
She said "I unintentionally made many of you uncomfortable because of this matter. I was very thoughtless. As a fellow patient fighting cancer, I once again painfully realized through this opportunity how much I still do not know," she said.
She added, "I will study more and be much more careful. Thank you to those who have cheered me on a lot, and I will take better care of my health and come back in good shape. Everyone, stay healthy. Thank you."
Earlier, Park Mi-seon, who had announced she was battling breast cancer, recently posted a group-buying post for blueberry juice, a health supplement, on her social account, sparking controversy. Park Mi-seon explained "I was bored," but concerns poured in that it could cause confusion for others who, like Park, are battling cancer. This is because concentrated extracts such as fruit juices are known to burden the liver and potentially have adverse effects on patients.
In response, Park Mi-seon said, "Thank you to everyone for worrying and scolding me. I will take good care of my health. Now that treatment is over, I started to try to slowly return to daily life, and I apologize if anyone felt uncomfortable," while also saying, "It is clearly a good product, so I hope it helps those who need it." However, as the controversy continued, Park Mi-seon deleted all posts related to the group-buying and again expressed her apology.
Below is the full text of Park Mi-seon's handwritten letter.
Hello everyone. I unintentionally made many of you uncomfortable because of this matter.
I was very thoughtless. As a fellow patient fighting cancer, I once again painfully realized through this opportunity how much I still do not know.
I will study more and be much more careful. Thank you to those who have cheered me on a lot, and I will take better care of my health and come back in good shape.
Everyone, stay healthy. Thank you.
Sincerely, Park Mi-seon.
