'On the Same Bed, Different Dreams 2' Ailee candidly shared her feelings about negative comments calling her husband Choi Si-hoon an unemployed person.
On the 22nd broadcast of SBS' On the Same Bed, Different Dreams Season 2 - You Are My Destiny, Ailee appeared.
Ailee revealed her daily life as she reached eight months into her marriage after marrying Choi Si-hoon, who is three years younger than her, in April of this year.
In particular, singer Ailee revealed behind-the-scenes stories of her marriage to Choi Si-hoon and shared a cheerful update on their newlywed life.
Ailee said the reason they got married was none other than the "cockroach incident," surprising everyone. She recalled, "My husband is so scared of insects that he cries. Actually, I'm scared too," and "One day a cockroach appeared at home and we were both just asking the other to catch it."
She continued, "In the end, my husband caught the cockroach while crying for the wife he was scared of," and "Seeing that, I thought, 'If it's this person, no matter how difficult or scary something is, he would overcome it for me.' At that moment I decided to marry him."
Upon hearing this, Seo Jang-hoon reacted, "Did you fall for the sight of him catching a cockroach while crying?" in disbelief, and Kim Gu Ra joked, "Korean cockroaches are much smaller than American ones, so why didn't Ailee just catch it?" drawing laughter.
Ailee also revealed her husband's endearing clumsiness. She said, "My husband is really bad at soccer. While in the military he was playing soccer and the team was overtaken in 10 minutes, so after that he said he would never play again. He has soccer trauma," and burst into laughter.
Also on the broadcast, there was an explanation regarding the "unemployed controversy" surrounding Choi Si-hoon. Ailee said, "My husband has never been unemployed," and "Because of baseless misunderstandings I even heard people say 'he lives off his wife's money,' which caused a lot of emotional distress."
She went on to clarify directly, "My husband used to be an influencer and now he runs a company as a CEO," and showed affection, saying, "Those words hurt, but now that the two of us are happy, we don't pay attention to them."
