RM, the leader of BTS, unusually aired his disappointment with the agency HYBE in public.
On the 21st, while doing a live broadcast on the fan community platform Weverse, BTS members shared candid feelings about their agency. RM began, saying, "I wish our company would show us a little more affection."
When Jin asked, "Aren't they still working hard on this and that?" RM replied, "I'm not sure," and added, "I don't usually say things like this, but I just wish they would embrace us a little more."
Earlier, on a live broadcast on the 16th, RM bluntly voiced frustration over the long gap until the comeback and the agency's operating schedule, saying, "I'm sick of 2025 to death." With Suga's discharge in June, expectations for BTS's full-group activities had risen.
RM said, "I can't say how far preparations have progressed, but the company keeps asking when to announce the comeback date," and added, "I wish HYBE would make the announcement a bit faster." Suga noted, "They said there will be an announcement in the near future." Jimin also agreed, saying, "It feels longer than I thought, so it's frustrating."
On the broadcast, the members also proclaimed 2026 as "the year of BTS," hinting at large-scale activities. RM showed confidence, saying, "Something really big is coming," and J-Hope also said, "2026 is an important year for us."
RM also revealed that there was a time when he wrestled with whether the team should continue. He said, "I agonized tens of thousands of times over whether it would be better to disband or to pause the team," adding, "Even so, the reason we are continuing is the love among the members and the love and respect for our fans."
RM added, "People around me often ask why we just let the second half of 2025 go by, why we did nothing," and said, "We didn't want to waste time, and I also wanted to be very active after being discharged." However, he said, "There were reasons we decided not to be active in the second half, but I don't have the authority to say all of that."
He said, "Our last concert was in Oct. 2022, so the performance hiatus has exceeded three years. Of course the desire to be on stage is genuine," but added, "As time has passed, many things have changed, and we need that much more preparation. Personally, the pressure is considerable, and it's also true that it's frustrating to be in a situation where only preparation continues."
