Singer Kim Jang Hoon posted a wedding video on social media that showed the face of Mir (Bang Cheol-yong) of MBLAQ's non-celebrity bride, and when it became controversial he bowed his head with a lengthy apology.
Mir is the younger sibling of Go Eun-a, and on the 21st held a private wedding in a location in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, marrying a non-celebrity partner one year older. The two decided to marry based on the trust and faith they had built over a long time, and Mir, before the wedding, said, "I met a precious connection and we formed the bond of marriage. We will cherish and respect each other and live faithfully," expressing his feelings.
The wedding was held quietly with only family, relatives and acquaintances invited. However, Kim Jang Hoon, who performed the congratulatory song, after the ceremony posted on his social media a post saying 'Eun-a's younger sibling Cheol-yong went to the wedding and suddenly felt real life hit him' along with on-site footage, and the video plainly exposed the face of the non-celebrity bride, drawing heavy criticism.
As the controversy grew, Kim Jang Hoon deleted the post, but the video had already spread online. Afterwards he posted a lengthy apology saying, "I offer my apologies regarding Bang Cheol-yong's wedding video." Kim Jang Hoon said, "I had no idea it was a private wedding, and after learning through articles I hurriedly deleted it but it was already spread," and added, "I behaved shamefully and did not live up to my age. I deserve to be cursed and criticized," blaming himself.
He continued, "I always vowed to live humbly, so I am even more embarrassed that this happened," and "I am very sorry especially to Eun-a and Cheol-yong, who I treat like family, and to their family members. From now on I will check and be careful to an almost pathological degree," reiterating his apology.
Kim Jang Hoon's incident recalls the case in April when singer Insooni posted a wedding photo on social media showing the face of Kim Jongmin's non-celebrity wife and it became controversial. At the time Insooni also said, "I did not realize it was a private wedding," deleted the photo and left a lengthy apology. She said, "I deeply apologized to the groom and bride in the morning and heard that they were okay, but my heart is heavy," and added, "I will be more careful in the future."
While critical voices have arisen over the consecutive incidents of famous singers 'revealing photos of private weddings,' on the other hand reactions continue such as, "Admitting the mistake and immediately apologizing is certainly something to be credited," and "You have to acknowledge at least the attitude of bowing the head immediately without excuse."
