The star of the 2025 KBS Entertainment Awards was Jun Hyun-moo. He returned to his home network and won his first grand prize.
On the afternoon of the 20th, the '2025 KBS Entertainment Awards' held at the KBS new building public hall was hosted by Lee Min-jung, Lee Chan-won and Moon Se-yoon.
That day's prestigious grand prize went to Jun Hyun-moo. After receiving the 'Entertainer of the Year' award, which nominates grand prize candidates, Jun Hyun-moo said, "I'm grateful to be nominated for the grand prize every year. For six years I've stood as a backdrop for the grand prize nominees, and in itself it's humbling. I don't think this year is the wrong one," adding, "Next year I'll work hard to win the grand prize with 'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears.' Today I came to applaud," he said in his remarks.
Earlier in his remarks he opened by saying, "I naturally thought it would be Park Bo-gum. When the camera director came to the seat I joked that it was wishful torture. I had only prepared an SBS acceptance speech. I really didn't expect this."
Jun Hyun-moo credited the guests, saying, "I've done 'The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears' for a long time, but everyone put food in my mouth. Because the bosses all do the show, there's nothing for me to do."
He continued, "If you subtract 20 years from 2025 you get 2005. Around this time I was taking the announcer exam for the third time, coming to the main building stairs at 4 a.m. and saying I would definitely do it. Twenty years after becoming an announcer, I received such a big award. I can't believe it. They call me KBS's son, but I was always a bit hurt that I received awards elsewhere. I'm grateful to receive this award," expressing pride at receiving his first grand prize from his home network.
In particular, Jun Hyun-moo said he has recently had a difficult time, saying, "As an entertainer the hardest thing is making others laugh when you're struggling yourself, and these days it's been very hard. Various things are difficult, and my father is ill. While doing funny things, I've been going back and forth to the hospital for my father. I think KBS has given me a great gift," he explained.
Jun Hyun-moo then said, "I became a KBS announcer with difficulty and learned entertainment here. Making others laugh is not the entirety of an entertainer. I'll try to become a better person so that when people see me they feel proud and that I'm a decent person."
