Webtoon artist and broadcaster Kian84 lamented the hardships he faced while serializing his webtoon.
On the 21st, a video titled "A spontaneous trip to Japan with Lee Si-eon" was uploaded to the "Insaeng84" channel.
That day Kian84 traveled to Osaka, Japan with Lee Si-eon. During the trip Kian84 mentioned Naver Webtoon, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, saying, "I am deeply moved."
He added, "They held something like Neweb World to commemorate Naver Webtoon's 20th anniversary," and boasted, "Author Jo Seok reviewed my comic. It's 'Fashion King' drawn by author Jo Seok."
He said, "He praised me very highly. When a person named Kian84 appeared in the webtoon scene he said, 'a new hero has appeared' and praised me," and "Since author Jo Seok described me like this, to give one answer of my own, I think (author Jo Seok) is like a master," expressing his admiration.
Kian84 praised his passion, saying, "What moved me then was that I always missed deadlines and was late, but once (author Jo Seok) injured his waist or hand. He was in pain and couldn't serialize. But in the end he took photos and serialized with photos. He's a genius."
In particular, Kian84 asked Lee Si-eon, "Is there any webtoon you can recommend?" and Lee Si-eon said, "Honestly, I still waited a long time for 'Fashion King'," and added, "When I first met you?? I told you, didn't I? Without knowing. 'Kian84, don't be late, upload it.' You were always late," delivering a scolding.
Then Kian84 confessed, "I was scared then. A man I had never seen before was drunk...", and Lee Si-eon recreated the scene, saying, "Hey, come here," drawing laughs. Kian84 added an explanation, "I didn't do it like that."
Meanwhile, Kian84 began working as a webtoon artist in 2008 and gained popularity with works such as "Fashion King" and "Returning Student King." Since appearing on MBC's "I Live Alone" in 2016, he has appeared on various entertainment programs and developed a distinctive character, and in 2023 he made history by becoming the first non-celebrity to win the grand prize at the MBC Entertainment Awards.
In particular, after the 2020 suspension of "Rejuvenation," he has been active as a broadcaster and painter. Last year he appeared on tvN's "You Quiz on the Block" and said, "I've done many jobs such as construction site labor, academy instructor, and picking up children, but webtoons were the hardest. I don't think I'll do it again. If I serialize again I'll attract aggro and fall. It's nothing special," clearly stating he had no plans to return to webtoons.
