Broadcaster Cho Sae-ho, who halted his broadcasting activities amid allegations of ties to organized crime, appeared in a special episode centered on him.
On the 21st, Netflix's 'Screwballs season 3: Screwballs disbandment show' was staged as a special to disband member Cho Sae-ho.
Because the dress code was "black," Hong Jin Kyung and Joo Woo-jae dressed respectively as a grim reaper and lion boys. Then Cho Sae-ho, who appeared next, matched the "black" dress code by dressing as Hollywood actor Jack Black, who appeared on Infinite Challenge, and Kim Sook and Jang Woo-young matched the dress code by dressing respectively as No-Face and as a shadow.
Cho Sae-ho, the fourth subject of the disbandment show, launched a corner just for himself, a solo talk show. When 'Cho Sae-ho SHOW' launched, Cho Sae-ho said, "Those four letters carried a lot of weight. If traditional talk shows were smooth, my charm will be awkward hosting, collapsing diction, clumsiness, and disconnected structure," and began 'Cho Sae-ho SHOW' as an unscripted improvised segment.
Cho Sae-ho held "real or fake" as the first corner of the talk show. Guests listened to Cho Sae-ho's episodes and tried to distinguish real episodes from fake ones. The first episode, in which he got so drunk with writer Kim Kyung-wook that he fell asleep in a public phone booth, turned out not to be Cho Sae-ho's episode but the writer's. Next, the episode about in middle school when his mother was showering and hand-washing uniforms and when Cho Sae-ho and his friends entered she cleverly put on a wet uniform and came out was revealed to be fake, and the episode in which he lied during a recording with his family about having an older brother and was scolded by his mother was determined to be true.
In the second and final corner, "impression speed quiz," they spent time guessing the person Cho Sae-ho impersonated and the occupations he described, and Cho Sae-ho performed a one-man show. Cho Sae-ho presented a real estate agent Kim Gu-ra, fisherman Kim Ho-young, magician Kang Ho-dong, pharmacist Lee Jung-jae, simultaneous interpreter Choo Sung Hoon, parking attendant Hwang Jung-min, flight attendant Noh Hong-chul, K-pop Demon Hunters G-Dragon, psychiatrist Oh Eun-young from Mareunjukgeori Brutal Story, and constipation medicine Jang Hyuk, then heroically "died in battle," drawing laughs.
Cho Sae-ho's solo talk show first place was taken by Kim Sook, who received generous gifts including nipple patches and a new knit from Cho Sae-ho's fashion brand. In a subsequently released trailer, Cho Sae-ho's funeral was staged. Cho Sae-ho moved the members to tears with the message, "Of course I am leaving first now, but if you don't mind, please take good care of my wife who will be left alone."
Meanwhile, Cho Sae-ho was embroiled in allegations that he received expensive gifts, promoted a franchise run by a member of an organized crime group, and drank with the ringleader of the largest violent organization in Geochang County, South Gyeongsang Province. The allegations surfaced via an SNS account that receives tips about various illegal criminals, and the allegations spread as photos of Cho Sae-ho taken with those figures were released.
In response, Cho Sae-ho's side said, "Cho Sae-ho and the person in question are merely acquaintances, and the claim that he received gifts is also unfounded," but Cho Sae-ho said, "I want to say that the raised allegations are completely untrue. I will take this as an opportunity for deep reflection and try to return with a more mature appearance," and announced he would withdraw from all broadcasts he was appearing on and suspend activities.
The 'Screwballs' side said, "(Including Cho Sae-ho) the filmed portions will be broadcast as scheduled, and future appearances are under internal discussion."
