On 'Running Man', Kim Jong-kook surprised everyone by revealing a golden key gift, and the recipient was none other than Song Ji-hyo.
On the Dec. 21 broadcast of SBS' Running Man, a Christmas special aired.
They appeared in outfits that evoked a strong Christmas feeling. Each picked one member and said they personally bought a gift they wanted to give at Christmas.
Yang Se-chan chose the golden key and, since it was his birthday, he was hopeful but was disappointed, saying "I feel bad" because it wasn't his gift and "I'm sad, it's my birthday."
Curious about who had brought the golden key, everyone predicted "Yu Jae-seok," and Yu Jae-seok said, "The gold he brought from 'Running Man' — the person who would bring this is Song Ji-hyo."
But the source of the golden key was Kim Jong-kook. He had actually brought a half don coin made of gold. It had a market value of about 400,000 won. As suspicion fell on Yu Jae-seok as the source of the gold, Kim Jong-kook joked. When it was revealed that the surprise Santa who brought the gold was Kim Jong-kook, everyone was moved, and Kim Jong-kook said, "I brought it because it's the end of the year."
However, attention focused on who would be the recipient of the gold gifted by Kim Jong-kook. Ji Seok-jin said, "If Jong-kook brought it, it would be mine," but when Kim Jong-kook said the reason he brought the gold was "for the emotion," Ha Ha said, "If it's for emotion, it's me." Meanwhile, the long-awaited gold gift was revealed.
Kim Jong-kook said, "A lucky key — I hoped Ji-hyo would meet a man." Kim Jong-kook said, "Because it's a half don, find the other half to make a full don," adding, "I don't need it now; I gave it with this warm heart," but...
In fact, there was no gift from Kim Jong-kook. Moreover, because Song Ji-hyo could not reveal the source of the gift, the gift returned to Kim Jong-kook. Still, Song Ji-hyo warmly thanked Kim Jong-kook, saying, "Oppa, thank you."
Meanwhile, Kim Jong-kook explained on a YouTube channel, "I bought a house. I'm not a building owner. It's for actual residence, not investment." In fact, Kim Jong-kook previously drew attention by purchasing a luxury low-rise apartment in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, for about 6.2 billion won and is living there as his newlywed home.
