"Running Man" captured Kim Jong-kook showing off strong newlywed vibes.
On the Dec. 21 broadcast of SBS "Running Man," a Christmas special aired.
That day the members appeared in outfits brimming with Christmas spirit ahead of Christmas. Each chose one member and said they had personally purchased a gift they wanted to give at Christmas. With the giver and the recipient kept secret, they opened the gifts one by one to see what was inside.
As gifts were revealed, the members showed polar opposite reactions. The members, amid criticism saying, "If this were mine it would be the worst," and that they would not keep it even if given, erupted in cheers when the top prize, the golden key, appeared. Eventually everyone showed possessive behavior, shouting "It's mine!"
At that moment, when Kim Jong-kook was given leopard-print underwear and said, "I am married — are you trying to make me have children?" everyone laughed, saying, "Will this set the mood?" Later Kim Jong-kook also reacted, "The underwear is the worst. Surprisingly it seems a woman prepared it and there's no sense of size."
Among the gifts, which varied wildly in price and quality, this race was staged as the "may it reach the Christmas gift" special. Members had to find which of the prepared gifts was theirs. If there were multiple gifts, they had to identify them all to avoid a penalty, and if none seemed to be theirs they could finally choose the lone zone. Ji Ye-eun worried from the start, "What if none of my gifts are anything?" which drew laughter.
Kim Jong-kook chose a high-end body lotion and said, "I really like it, I put on a lot of body lotion," and everyone replied, "We understand because you're newlywed." But the body lotion was not a gift for Kim Jong-kook. He then became curious about the leopard-print underwear gift, thinking it might be for him, but his expectation was off.
It turned out Ji Ye-eun had bought it for Yang Se-chan. Ji Ye-eun said, "I wanted to give something funny," and added, "When I said I would give it to Yang Se-chan, he told me to make it large," which caused laughter.
