'Lowbrow aging' expert Jeong Hee-won, head of the Lowbrow Aging Research Institute, who was accused of stalking by a woman in her 30s identified as A, was countersued by A on charges including forcible sexual assault.
On the 21st, A's side said that on the 18th they filed a complaint against Dr. Jeong Hee-won. The charges applied include forcible sexual assault by intimidation, false accusation, defamation, and violation of the anti-stalking law.
A's side submitted as evidence SNS messages and call recording files that contain circumstances suggesting Dr. Jeong demanded sexual favors, and it is known that even after the case became public Dr. Jeong continued to contact A, causing her to complain of distress.
Earlier, Dr. Jeong had filed a complaint accusing A, who had worked as a commissioned researcher at the institute, of attempted extortion, trespassing and other charges, saying she had been stalking him since July. The police are together investigating the case in which Dr. Jeong reported A in October for violating the anti-stalking law.
Dr. Jeong said she ended the contractual relationship with A, who had worked as a commissioned researcher at the institute, in June but thereafter claimed she was continuously stalked along with verbal abuse by A. She also said, "A came to Dr. Jeong's wife's workplace and residence and threatened them. And she demanded copyright equity and money for the 'lowbrow aging mindset.'"
A's side said, "This case is gender-based violence that occurred within a power relationship," asserting that Dr. Jeong repeatedly made sexual demands using her position, and that A could not refuse out of fear of being fired.
