Rising actress Han Ji-won played a central figure in MBC's Moon River.
In episode 13 of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama Moon River, which aired on the 19th, Han Ji-won revealed her identity as "Choraeng-ital," injecting tension into the drama.
So far, Choraeng-ital had been mentioned as a prime suspect not only in the Jimjo case but also in several other incidents. Therefore, to uncover Choraeng-ital's identity, Bak Dal-i (played by Kim Se-jeong) and Lee Gang (played by Kang Tae-oh) struggled hard. Choraeng-ital learned that her mother had died, and she gained awareness from a letter by Kim Woo-hee (played by Hong Su-ju) telling her to run away from the left minister Kim Han-chul (played by Jin Goo), whom she served.
Choraeng-ital hinted, "I'll help you, so run away afterward. Danju used to entrust important items to a woman who was always not fully in her right mind when drunk, and the left minister said he didn't understand that," suggesting there would be a secret pact in Queen Jangjeong's residence. Choraeng-ital's decision to stand with Bak Dal-i and lend support stirred viewers' curiosity.
Han Ji-won plainly conveyed Choraeng-ital's confused emotions after her identity was exposed. In particular, she showed that the character is not simply a suspect in the incidents but someone who changes the direction of the drama, raising anticipation for the remaining episodes.
Meanwhile, MBC's Moon River, in which Han Ji-won appears, will air its final episode tonight at 9:40 p.m.
