The band Catch The Young (CATCH THE YOUNG) returns this winter with another emotional rock ballad.
Catch The Young (Sani, Gihoon, Namhyun, Junyong, Jeongmo) will release the remake single "Balgeoreum" on the 20th at 6 p.m. on various online music sites
"Balgeoreum" is the signature song of Emerald Castle released in 1997, expressing the pain and lingering feelings of parting and the excitement of a new beginning in a wistful melody, and has been loved for a long time. As it has been repeatedly referenced through numerous remakes, expectations are rising about what new sensibility Catch The Young has added.
Catch The Young focused on finely tuning the band sound to suit today's sensibility while respecting the original song's era-specific sentiment. In particular, the guitar solo's details were enhanced to realize the texture and tone characteristic of the 1990s, preserving a raw emotion without excess. The bass line was also designed to firmly support the flow rather than showy movement, steadily building the song's depth.
In the vocal part, which is the core that determines the mood of "Balgeoreum," they balanced the expression so as not to damage the original's identity while letting Catch The Young's color naturally seep through. Beginning calmly and gradually building in emotion, the authenticity of the original and the band's reinterpretation were completed to flow naturally.
In addition, Catch The Young will release a special video that visualizes the emotional line of "Balgeoreum," adding an element that allows listeners to enjoy both the music and the narrative.
Catch The Young released the remake single "Balgeoreum" today at 6 p.m. on various online music sites, and they are also preparing to release a full-length album in early next year. On Jan. 16 next year, they will hold a solo concert at Hongdae Rolling Hall titled THE REAL PROUD: Rolling 31st anniversary performance.
