Group Lovelyz alum and broadcaster Lee Mi-joo mentioned being scammed by a former agency.
On the 19th, a new video titled "Mi-joo's year-end Q&A" was posted on the YouTube channel "Just Lee Mi-joo."
Lee Mi-joo explained her recent move from Antenna to AOMG, saying, "Everyone was surprised. It's a hip-hop company too, but starting as 2.0, I became the first runner to start anew. I have a worried feeling that I need to get the start right."
She mentioned Lovelyz's debut as the happiest moment in her life, saying, "It was fiercely competitive back then. There were 40 trainees, and every time we had the monthly evaluation, people were eliminated. I wondered, 'Could I possibly be included in that group?' and I had no such confidence."
Lee Mi-joo added, "Every time I wanted to go home so badly I called my mother. When I said, 'I miss you so much,' my mother yelled, 'You said you would do this.' I said, 'Okay, I'll try,' held on and endured, and then debuted."
Asked whether she auditioned for other companies, Lee Mi-joo said, "This is the first time I'm talking about it, but when I was in high school the company was newly established. That place turned out to be run by scammers."
She also said, "They sat us in an office and didn't let us practice. Later they said, 'We invested in you,' and told us if we wanted to leave we had to pay a penalty. It was dirty and despicable, so I paid and left."
