Ip Jjap-eun Haetnim apologizes after "Jusa aunt" allegations and halts activities…will she go ahead with the announced live stream?
Mukbang YouTuber Ip Jjap-eun Haetnim (real name Kim Mi-kyung) bowed her head over the so-called "Jusa aunt" controversy, decided to step down from the program she was appearing on, and attention is focused on whether she will go ahead with the scheduled YouTube live stream.
In the early hours of the 19th, Ip Jjap-eun Haetnim posted a long message on her YouTube community and expressed her position on the recent allegations. She said, "I am truly sorry for causing concern to those who have cared for and supported me," and added, "I am reflecting on and sorting out the controversies and allegations that have been raised, and if there are wrongdoings, I will acknowledge them and will not evade responsibility."
Regarding her relationship with person A, who stands at the center of the controversy, she said, "I first met at a hospital in Gangnam through an introduction from an acquaintance, believed he was a doctor, and received treatment," and "There were busy days when person A came to my home, but I have never gone to person A's residence," she explained. She added, "It is my fault that I did not look more carefully, and I deeply reflect on that." However, the scandal continued as person A, identified as the key figure in the controversy, was found through the Korean Medical Association Organization to not hold a domestic medical license.
Ip Jjap-eun Haetnim also said, "I will step down from all current programs and suspend all scheduled activities," formalizing the suspension of her activities. Accordingly, she withdrew from tvN's "Amazing Saturday" and ENA's "Perfect Table," where she had been appearing. With Park Na-rae, SHINee's Key and now Ip Jjap-eun Haetnim deciding to step down, "Amazing Saturday" faces the burden of losing major cast members.
Meanwhile, the YouTube live schedule she announced is drawing attention. Ip Jjap-eun Haetnim had announced a mukbang live at 10 p.m. that day. However, since she said she would suspend all activities, there is speculation that she may not run the broadcast as usual, may appear in person to state her position, or may cancel the live stream entirely.
All eyes are on whether Ip Jjap-eun Haetnim will directly explain the controversy through a live broadcast just one day after the allegations surfaced.
Meanwhile, Ip Jjap-eun Haetnim was recently embroiled in allegations that she received illegal drugs and was given an intravenous drip by a person referred to as "Jusa aunt." Claims were also raised that procedures using medical devices were performed at an officetel rather than a medical facility. She denied the allegations, saying, "I did receive anti-swelling medication from the hospital where that person worked, but it is unrelated to diet pills or intravenous drips."
