'If We' Moon Ga-young confessed that she did most of the film's shooting without makeup.
On the afternoon of the 19th at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, an interview was held with Moon Ga-young, the lead actor of the film 'If We'.
The film 'If We' (director Kim Do-young, distributor SHOWBOX, provided by KC Ventures·K-Wave Media, produced by Covenant Pictures) is a relatable romance about Eun-ho and Jeong-won, who loved each other passionately, unexpectedly reuniting after 10 years and unfolding traces of their memories. It is a remake of the original Chinese film 'Us in the Future' (2018) adapted to Korean sensibilities.
Kim Do-young, who drew attention for his delicate emotional direction with 'Kim Ji-young, Born 1982' (2019), returns with a new film that is drawing expectations for the dense acting chemistry and poignant chemistry between Koo Kyo-hwan and Moon Ga-young. It realistically captures the dazzling moments of their youth in their 20s and the emotional changes when the two meet again 10 years later.
Moon Ga-young plays Jeong-won, who grows from a college student who keeps moving forward despite the hardships of living in Seoul without giving up her dreams, into a mature career woman after a breakup.
Moon Ga-young, who debuted in the 2006 film 'The Teacher's Grace', has mainly been active in drama such as 'Great Temptation', 'The Man's Memory', 'True Beauty', 'The Interest of Love', 'Delightfully Deceitful', 'My Dearest Nemesis' and 'Law and The City'. Through 'If We', she returns to the screen for the first time in nine years and takes on her first melodrama since her debut.
Moon Ga-young, on the positive response to the film, said, I usually try not to get carried away, but yesterday I was very excited. (At the VIP screening) my parents also came, they liked it so much and it ended well and was fun, adding, I considered watching it with Koo Kyo-hwan at the press preview, but if actors cry it would be a problem at the press conference, so I didn't watch it.
Moon Ga-young, who acted intensely without makeup in the film, said, When filming I didn't wear makeup and was comfortable, and my parents, seeing me, said in the morning that Ga-young's baby face shows a lot, adding, At first I did rough smoky makeup, and after that I didn't wear makeup at all. I only put slight waves in my hair.
Asked, Was not wearing makeup your idea? she replied, I didn't volunteer saying 'I won't wear makeup'; I only put on sunscreen. Personally, my lips are quite red, so I actually toned that down for the shoot, adding, People that age are interested in clothes, and she tried to make Jeong-won as natural and age-appropriate as possible, going to Dongdaemun to buy pretty clothes.
