On the afternoon of the 19th, Jun Hyun-moo's agency SM C&C said in an official statement, "Regarding past broadcast scenes that have recently been circulating online, we are issuing the following statement to clarify the facts."
Recently, on social media and online communities, a scene from the 2016 MBC program I Live Alone in which Jun Hyun-moo receives an IV in a car has been reexamined. In connection with the recent resignations of Park Na-rae and SHINee's Key over the 'injection aunt' controversy, suspicions arose that Jun Hyun-moo might also be connected to that person.
In response, the agency immediately issued a statement saying, "The scene in question is from the 2016 I Live Alone broadcast. At the time, Jun Hyun-moo's throat condition was not good, so he received treatment after consultation and a prescription from the attending physician at the hospital. Because there was not enough time before the filming schedule, under the doctor's judgment, the finishing of the treatment was unavoidably completed while moving, and part of that process was exposed in the broadcast."
The agency added, "Aside from the finalizing of the treatment, all medical procedures were carried out inside the hospital under the judgment and prescription of medical staff. There was no personal summons of a medical professional or any illegal procedure performed. We say this to point out that the current allegations stem from misunderstandings caused by some scenes being circulated online without the full situation and context being sufficiently conveyed."
Jun Hyun-moo's side said, "Regarding this matter, please refrain from baseless speculation and distorted interpretations so that misunderstandings that are not factual do not spread."
Jun Hyun-moo's quick explanation came as suspicions surfaced because Park Na-rae and SHINee's Key, who appeared with him on I Live Alone, recently announced their step-downs amid the 'injection aunt' controversy. Park Na-rae was accused of receiving illegal medical procedures from a person known as the 'injection aunt,' and SHINee's Key faced increased controversy after it was reported that he had maintained a friendship with that person for more than 10 years.
In addition, Eumjip-eun Haetnim, who appears with them on Amazing Saturday, is also under suspicion of acting as a courier by receiving diet pills from a person called the 'injection aunt' and accepting Park Na-rae's pills to hand them to Park Na-rae's manager.
They acknowledged receiving treatment from the person called the 'injection aunt' but said there was no illegal medical procedure. However, saying they hoped to minimize damage to the program and those involved, they withdrew from all variety shows and suspended their schedules.
