Model-turned-actress Byun Jung-soo explained what led her to try being a "seller."

In the video, Byun Jung-soo appeared as a guest and talked about her shopping mall. Jun Hyun-moo said, "Noona was an actress, model and radio DJ too. She did everything except record albums," expressing surprise, and Byun Jung-soo said, "I did everything except record albums," and confessed, "But the funnier thing, you know. I'm not a singer but I had thyroid cancer surgery and I also had vocal cord nodule surgery."
She said, "I really suffered. So I almost experienced death. 'Why should I go through something others can't?' I thought. But that trial became a major turning point in my life. It became a kind of medicine. What kind of medicine? 'Well, since I died and came back, let's live this life. If it doesn't work out, it's over, and if I can't make a living, GO.'" She added that she tried things with that mindset. "And I grab every opportunity that comes to me. How can I make it so this has to be Byun Jung-soo?" she said, describing the change in her thinking.
Jun Hyun-moo asked, "So that's why you became a seller?" and Byun Jung-soo said, "So the process itself — back in the day with Cyworld and KakaoStory, and when Instagram first came out, whenever I posted photos people asked a lot. 'What foundation and blush did you use, unnie? What lipstick is that?' I thought then, if it's a friend I can just tell them, but there's a limit. It's a bit of a waste."
She continued, "I know a lot. Not to brag, but really directors and writers would say, 'If you just do a little of that you could look so pretty.' But people live not knowing. So I started with that. I thought, what if I contact the brands of the products I used and liked? Back then there were diet supplements like seaweed ear. I called. I said I felt so much better after taking this and proposed selling it. That was how it started. How nervous was I? I had been a model and actress, poised like a swan, and suddenly I said I would sell something and posted photos? What would people think, 'Why is she doing that? Is it hard?'" she recalled the time she first started selling.
In response Jun Hyun-moo chimed in, "Are you in debt? Why go this far?" and Byun Jung-soo replied, "That's true. But my personality is that I like to tell people things." Jun Hyun-moo agreed, saying, "You liked introducing products you used yourself," and Byun Jung-soo confessed, "Since I was young, whether it was my younger sister or a friend, I'd say, 'If you do just this much you'd look prettier.' I talk to people like that. That's just my personality."
