Mukbang YouTuber Ipjapteun Haetnim explained and apologized over allegations of involvement with 'Joo Saimo'.
On the early morning of the 19th, Ipjapteun Haetnim posted a long statement on her official YouTube channel outlining her position on the allegations of involvement with 'Joo Saimo'.
Ipjapteun Haetnim opened by saying, "I am reflecting on and organizing the controversies and allegations currently raised about me, and if there are wrongdoings, I will acknowledge them and will not make excuses or evade responsibility."
She went on to explain, "I first met Mr. Lee, who is currently controversial, at a hospital in Gangnam District through an introduction from an acquaintance, so I had no reason to doubt that he was a doctor and received treatment. I believed Mr. Lee was an actual doctor. On days when I was busy, Mr. Lee did come to my home. However, I have never been to Mr. Lee's home."
She said, "It is my great fault that I did not pay more careful attention to various circumstances and behave more cautiously, and I deeply reflect on that," and announced she would step down from all ongoing programs and suspend all scheduled activities, declaring the suspension of her activities on YouTube, including tvN's Amazing Saturday.
She bowed her head and said, "I sincerely apologize to everyone who loved me despite my shortcomings, and I will address this matter with a sincere attitude to the best of my ability. Once again, I apologize to the many people who supported me."
Meanwhile, Dispatch reported that it suspects Ipjapteun Haetnim received illegal medical procedures from A, the 'Joo Saimo' figure. A was previously known as the person who carried out illegal medical procedures on Park Na-rae without holding a medical license, which sparked controversy. Amid this, circumstances suggesting that Ipjapteun Haetnim also received diet pills or intravenous drips from A were detected, drawing attention. In addition, it was further alleged that she acted as a courier by receiving psychotropic drugs from A and passing them to Park Na-rae's manager.
However, Ipjapteun Haetnim reportedly denied the allegations to Dispatch, saying, "I did receive a swelling medication at the hospital where A worked," but that "diet pills and intravenous drips are unrelated."
