Mixed martial artist Choo Sung Hoon rang a startling "golden bell" at a Japanese pub.
On the 18th, a video titled "Dopamine fully charged: an old man's indulgent Tokyo izakaya pilgrimage (ft. Ebisu Yokocho, hangover ramen)" was uploaded to Choo Sung Hoon's YouTube.
That day Choo Sung Hoon had a group dinner with the production staff at Tokyo's izakaya pilgrimage site. Choo Sung Hoon explained, "If you look here it says 'Ebisu Yokocho,' and the shops underneath fit into a very small space. So it's fun. It still doesn't seem very crowded with customers, maybe because it's Sunday, but on Fridays and Saturdays it's packed."
He continued, "A lot of meetings happen here. Because there are seats where you just sit next to other people, right? It's the style of sitting and eating together, so there are many experiences where people strike up conversations and things go well, and older men like places like this. They sit, eat yakitori with juniors, have a beer and enjoy that atmosphere," introducing it as a "hunting shrine."
Later Choo Sung Hoon sat with the production staff at the pub and talked. Looking back on the year, he said, "The year went by a year too fast. I ran hard and only interesting things happened, people enjoyed watching. I had a lot of really good experiences."
Meanwhile the production staff marveled, "Two tables in the back are talking," and Choo Sung Hoon's eyes lit up as he offered, "Shall I bring you a beer?" A male customer said, "Thank you," and Choo Sung Hoon immediately asked the clerk, "I'll pay, so two draft beers please."
The production staff said, "Why two? There's a table beside them too, you should give them some as well," and Choo Sung Hoon asked the women customers' table, "Can you drink more?" then gladly ordered, "Two more draft beers please," buying drinks for them. He added, "This is how you pick them up. Old-school style. It's the old style," drawing laughter.
Soon after the production staff cheered, "We got a number in the back," and Choo Sung Hoon, acting as cupid, showed delight. The production staff proposed, "How about we play rock-paper-scissors with the guy here and the winning team buys drinks?" Choo Sung Hoon, intrigued, asked, "Shall we?" then said, "If you beat me I'll buy everything." They played rock-paper-scissors and in the end he bought drinks for everyone. He coolly said, "I'll pay. Have as much as you want," and the production staff marveled, "Isn't this the golden bell?"
Amid the pouring cheers the production staff said, "Here's the main character," and Choo Sung Hoon joked, "As long as you have money, it's fine. Right? It's all money," adding to the laughter.
Meanwhile, Choo Sung Hoon married Japanese model Yano Shiho in 2009 and has a daughter, Choo Sa-rang. In particular, Choo Sung Hoon recently said on a broadcast that with Yano Shiho they split the bill for anything that is not a gift, and that he does not honestly tell his wife about his revenue, which surprised viewers.<
