The so-called Park Narae "injection aunt" scandal is spreading across the entertainment industry, and mukbang YouTuber Ipjapjeun Haetnim (real name Kim Mi-kyung) has also been additionally implicated in alleged illegal medical practices.
On the 18th, Dispatch published a report saying that injection aunt A had given an IV and prescribed diet pills to Ipjapjeun Haetnim, releasing a KakaoTalk conversation between Park Narae's former manager B and A.
In the released messages, injection aunt A directly mentioned drug delivery circumstances, telling B, "I have to go to Sangam-dong tomorrow because of Haetnim," and "I'll have it delivered to Haetnim during Friday's Amazing Saturday filming." It also included explanations of how to take the diet pills, saying, "Haetnim takes it three times," and "on heavy-eating days she takes it four times."
There were also allegations that Park Narae and Ipjapjeun Haetnim received IVs and radiofrequency stimulation device procedures together. The device is marketed as a medical device for fat breakdown and cellulite improvement and, under the Medical Service Act, may only be used by licensed medical personnel within medical institutions. Dispatch reported that it obtained on-site photos of injection aunt A using it in an officetel.
Ipjapjeun Haetnim's side told Dispatch that "there was a time when she received swelling medicine from the hospital where A worked," but denied any connection to diet pills or IVs.
All three have worked together on tvN's Amazing Saturday, and the ties to injection aunt A appear to be spreading across the broadcasting industry.
Earlier, as allegations of manager power abuse by Park Narae and involvement of the injection aunt in illegal medical activity continued, she announced on the 8th that she would suspend her broadcasting activities.
SHINee member Key was also mentioned in the allegations. Key acknowledged receiving treatment at home from the injection aunt, saying, "I thought she was a hospital doctor," and apologized, saying, "I deeply reflect on my ignorance." He has since left the programs he was appearing on.
By contrast, Ipjapjeun Haetnim has denied the diet pill and IV allegations outright, and attention is focused on the authenticity of the drugs that A claims to have delivered.
