"Extreme 84" airs every Sunday at 9:10 p.m. on MBC.
The following is the full Q&A with Kwon Hwa-woon.
Q. What made you decide to participate in "Extreme 84"?
I normally love running so much that I run every day, and because of Kian84 hyung I got into marathons, so I wanted to go through hardships together.
Q. What aspect of "runner Kwon Hwa-woon" did you want to show through the program?
I wanted to show the "sincerity" that I truly love running, so I treated this year as if my profession were a marathoner.
Q. What did you feel running with crew leader Kian84, and what was the most impressive moment?
Actually, before the competition we trained together twice a week in Korea. Even when we could have taken it easy, I learned a lot watching hyung train with sincerity both on and off the program. I'm also grateful that he always took good care of me.
Q. What has been the biggest change or lesson you gained through "Extreme 84"?
Leaving records aside, by running and participating in marathon events I learned to fully enjoy the moment and to be grateful for enjoying harmony with everyone at the event, which is a celebration.
Q. Is there anything you would like to say to runners who want to run with viewers?
When I reached my 30s and felt I was settling into comfort, I watched Kian84 hyung's marathon broadcasts and happened to start running once in front of my house. That one step changed the paradigm of my life. I want to continue living a life of challenge from now on. Let's run together, everyone!
