Group After School alumnus and actress Nana recently shared an update that she has equipped herself with self-defense items after a recent robbery incident.
On the 17th, a video titled "Everything about Nana these days, from recently started care to the items that stuck in her healing routine!" was uploaded to Harper's Bazaar Korea's channel.
That day Nana, after being asked, "Among the most recently purchased items, is there an item you want to introduce to fans?" said, "I brought one item," and took a spray out of her bag.
She said, "Going through a major incident recently made me deeply realize that only I can protect myself," and explained, "It's a self-defense spray." After the recent robbery incident, she bought and has been carrying self-defense items to prepare for similar situations.
Nana said, "I hope such things never have to be used, but in case a dangerous situation arises, to protect yourself a little, I want to strongly recommend self-defense spray as an essential item," and she actively encouraged fans to purchase it as well.
On the morning of the 15th, Nana experienced an incident in which a robber armed with a weapon broke into her home. After a physical struggle, Nana and her mother subdued the robber and reported it to the police, but during the process Nana's mother sustained a neck injury from being choked by the robber.
At the time, the agency Sublime explained, "Due to the robber's physical attack, Nana's mother experienced a loss of consciousness from serious injuries, and Nana also sustained physical injuries while getting out of the dangerous situation. Both require treatment and absolute rest."
They added, "The specific details of the incident are matters currently investigating and cannot be disclosed, and additional information will follow the announcement of the investigative authorities. All facts are being thoroughly investigated by the police, and our agency is cooperating sincerely with the investigative authorities." The court issued an arrest warrant for a man in his 30s, A, on charges of aggravated robbery and injury, citing flight risk, and he was transferred to the prosecution on the 24th. A filed a request for review of detention two days after his arrest, claiming the police did not properly inform him of his Miranda rights during the arrest process, but the court did not accept it.
In particular, although A suffered a laceration on the chin during the struggle with Nana and her mother, the police judged it to be self-defense and did not book him. Even after experiencing such a major incident, Nana proceeded with scheduled advertising shoots and other schedules without changes, and continued preparing as planned for the album and photobook promised to fans.
