Attorney Lee Ji-hoon expressed his thoughts on comedian Park Na-rae's controversy.
On the 17th, a video titled "The classic of self-ruin and self-destruction Park Na-rae, is this the Narae way? (Her fate got tangled, she ruined her own life)" was posted on the YouTube channel "A Lawyer I Know."
Attorney Lee Ji-hoon criticized Park Na-rae's announcement that she had met face-to-face with her former managers and reached a settlement, saying, "This should not be done this way. You can't just gloss over it without understanding the seriousness. Saying they were managers who lived like family is wrong in itself. Also, saying they suddenly resigned shows she doesn't know what the problem is. It means there is no sense of the problem. I don't think she has it now either."
He added, "She said misunderstandings accumulated because there was no chance to talk, but if you see it that way you cannot solve the problem. If it goes like this, there is a problem in Park Na-rae's thinking structure. She does not know how serious what she is experiencing is. One can only conclude that brain function has stopped. She is not thinking."
Regarding being accused of aggravated injury, he said, "Aggravated injury didn't arise from accumulated misunderstandings, did it? She had no one nearby to seek advice from. Aggravated injury is not something that comes from words. If you have this kind of perception about the situation, you cannot resolve it. At this level, one can only think that the function of thought has stopped."
Park Na-rae had said she met with her managers to resolve misunderstandings and distrust. Attorney Lee Ji-hoon said, "She said she met the managers to resolve misunderstandings and distrust, but that wasn't the case. She escalated the incident. Escalating an incident is also a kind of ability. In the end, the managers launched a counterattack."
He went on, "At the settlement meeting she suggested going to a karaoke while intoxicated, but you can only attempt a settlement once. You cannot do it twice. When one becomes the perpetrator, contacting the victim is only allowed once, and attempting settlement is only allowed once. This is not bargaining. You must save that opportunity and use it carefully; you cannot act willy-nilly like this. Park Na-rae drank and went to the settlement meeting, but she was not in a mindset to settle."
Attorney Lee Ji-hoon said, "If you are able to think, you should not do this. She has reached a level where she cannot think. Her brain may have stopped functioning. She does not take this matter seriously at all. She is disregarding her former managers. It seems to be one of three things. At a settlement meeting she should have been prostrate and apologizing repeatedly, but to drink, suggest going to a karaoke and talk about old times is out of her mind."
Meanwhile, Park Na-rae is currently embroiled in various disputes with her former managers. The former managers alleged they suffered verbal abuse, aggravated assault, being on call at all times, and personal errands and other abuses of power from Park Na-rae. They also accused Park Na-rae of operating an unregistered one-person agency and of illegal medical procedures.
In particular, the former managers raised issues such as excessive working hours due to being on call at all times and resulting unpaid severance pay and unpaid expenses, while Park Na-rae's ex-boyfriend was accused of receiving a high salary.
In addition, Park Na-rae's illegal medical procedures are causing the biggest controversy. She is accused of receiving illegal medical procedures from non-licensed persons, nicknamed "injection auntie" and "IV auntie," receiving proxy prescription drugs, injections and IVs at private homes and overseas shooting locations rather than hospitals.
In response, Park Na-rae has suspended all broadcasting activities and countersued her former managers on extortion charges.
